The unpopular opinions thread

What are your some of your unpopular opinions? It can be about anything and everything.

The first one that comes to mind for me:

Star Wars: Republic Commandos is one of the best FPS games ever made.

Almost 65% of my opinions are unpopular. I'm unique that's why.

Well, it's a hard question. As an internet entity almost every opinion I have is unpopular somewhere in the world, and this goes for everyone.

Yeah of course. All opinions of the world are going to receive criticism or negative feedback of some sort. But I'm more talking about which of your opinions do you think are the viewed the most unpopular and could be seen as "crazy."

May not be that unpopular but whatever:

• I don't like cats.
• The Avengers sucked.
• DUI's should carry mandatory prison sentences.
• I don't like birthdays (celebrating them etc).

Well that's the thing, i can give you opinions about my country which are not unpopular, but will be very unpopular in the usa for instance. Statistically it's a very unpopular idea, but it's completely normal here.

Black pete for instance. Where i live black pete helps santa claus to put gifts in the chimney for the children, the children ask in a letter for the gifts the night before six december. Santa claus is too old to climb on the roofs so black pete does it for him. The idea is that black pete is black because of the chimney. Allthough it may have origined as someone from africa, historic documents give mixed results.

I'm not going to say this can't be offensive for black persons but we never looked at it that way, it was never a racial thing. We never had slaves here like in the usa too. The past years, and this due to globalization, there is a lot of controversy around it, which is understandable, but we really live in different worlds. T

So , my point is, due to globalization, i don't really have any crazy ideas anymore, someone or somewhere will always think it's right or wrong.

And when it comes down to it, it are the biggest cultures that become the most popular , worldwide, because they are the biggest in numbers.

I'm a little late, but I HATED the movie Gravity. It was so boring.

• I like Family Guy.
• I don't like American Dad.
• I didn't liked GTA: San Andreas.
• I think True Detective is overrated.

Of course. There are a hundred million reasons for me to be proud of myself.

Christopher Nolan is overrated, Sylvester Stallone writes and directs better movies.

• Most of the Marvel movies including avenger is boring.(didn't watch gog yet and this doesn't include fox xmen movies)
• Mangas > Anime's and also comics
• I actually like some of threads made by uninspiredcup. :P

I don't agree when anyone says GTA sucks =P

that all religions should be illegal. they prevent individuals to think logically.

• Barack Obama is one of the worst presidents ever
• Star trek sucks
• The Simpsons are still ok
• California is a craphole (Most seem to love this place for some reason)
• GTA 3 sucked

@evildead6789: I've seen a lot of black people taking photos with Zwarte Piet (also, so far everyone I've seen dressed as Zwarte Piet has been white)...nobody seems to give a damn and the tourists love them. Piet is also always being hugged by "Santa" or chatting with each other, there's nothing to it that even resembles slavery so to me that's one of those polemics that are created when people have too much free time. Those people also say that it's because the Dutch are so used to it that they don't see it, but I'm not Dutch.

As for the thread, I have lots of unpopular views about games and movies...normally if it's too hyped I end up disappointed. I get a lot of hate for saying I didn't care for stuff like The Avengers, Breaking Bad, The Witcher, Bioshock, Far Cry, etc. Not that I'm saying they were bad media, they were just uninteresting to me, and somehow that makes a lot of people mad, like I'm preventing them from enjoying it just because I didn't.

@TheWalkingGhost: minus the Star Trek and gta3 sucking I think those are pretty common opinions.

Duhhhhhh. I can't fathom why folks prefer T2 to the first.

Have you considered the possibility of religion being a symptom of people not thinking logically rather than a cause?

Most atheists on the internet are 14-20 year olds using it as a paper crusade to make themselves feel superior.

Also, the Soviet Union made an effort to suppress religion, but it still continued anyways along with the unfortunate consequence of religion becoming associated with freedom, human rights, etc.

• Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Star Trek, Ghostbusters and all those other things you guys grew up with are average at best.
• I hate children.
• I support death penalty.
• I like Israel.
• I like Islam.
• The Middle East rules.
• America Sucks.
• Europe sucks, albeit perhaps a little less than America.
• Internet atheist crusaders performs fellatio at least 3 times a week.

Religion is a lot more logical than Libertarianism.

Barack Obama is still very popular with the left, he was never with the right. Hating Obama will still get you called a racist by many and live here...Everywhere I see people with Pro-Cali shirts, people seem to wub Cali and I hate it. Oh and it is general opinion the simpsons have sucked for about a decade.

I don't think that's unpopular. When it came out it was very highly praised and loved by tons of people. :-P

American Dad is not a funny show. It's terrible, boring and I would rather watch anything else.

Only if the ideology was confined in isolation, the removal of intellectual thought and dependance on the emotional benefits the religion brings.
