There are websites out there loaded with videos, gif's and pictures of gore. People have gore vidoes on their phones and send them to their friends.

What is this appeal to seeing disgusting pictures that are real? Why do people like to watch others suffer?

Because I have a morbid interest?

Because it has come to be considered by the young generation as sth "cool" or "wicked". A huge part at least-it would be unfair to include everyone in that group.

Because it reminds me, no matter how **** my life gets I'm not the sorry person in the gore picture at hand.

And everyone likes a bit of gore now and then.

Often people say psychopaths or sadist are the audience of this gore trend but in reality its so many more people. As much as I find it sad that people watch these and unknowingly support the popularity of snuff films for watching them, its important to try to empathize with the viewers. Most of these tend to be young teens that want to fulfill their curiosity of seeing a real person die or suffer, maybe even pictures of their dismembered body for reasons of not knowing. They come face to face with the reality of death and are just hypnotized by it.

These kids don't all enjoy it unless they are psychopaths or sadistic kids suffering from anti-social personanility disorder but a lot of kids do regret watching them. What they do not understand is the harm they do to themselves and to others for watching it and showing it to others.

People just stay away from them and stop supporting it but in the internet people do what they want. And complete freedom comes with the bad.

I have absolutely no idea. I find it really sick when people show immense interest in such things, and I find it even sicker when I feel interested in them. I have no idea why, but something just keep me watching.

People are curious. I don't really watch them, but when I saw something bad, it makes me realize how I do not have a reason to complain. :D

Nor sure.

I guess many somehow find it "awesome" or something like that.

Gore is not that interesting. I like watching execution and suicide videos.

I don't mind it in movies etc. but I'm not sick or sadistic enough to watch disturbingly real videos :|

Because the media makes it a taboo.

I have no problem with others watching gore videos, but I personally can't stand them; I'm too squeamish and easily scared.

I don't fawkin know. There are rare times that I feel the need to watch a guy get his head blown off or other disgusting morbid things. Something about watching someone take their last breath interests me. Of course, all it takes is one or two videos to completely kill my appetite and interest to watch someone die...:P

Easy: fascination. I used to watch all those vids back when I was 18 to see what I've been so sheltered from. You don't see that sh!t everyday, if at all. Now, I have an idea and have no interest in seeing such things anymore. It's out there, it's cruel, that's all I need to know. I don't need to see someone being beheaded or tortured, I can imagine well enough.
