So, even after his "Vote with your conscience speech" and especially after Donald said his dad killed Kennedy and comments involving his wife (correct me if I'm wrong, I'll edit). Ted in the end decides to vote Trump.

No other words left from me. Anyone else?

He wants to run in 2020, needs party support. He's attempting to be a team player.

Ted Cruz is such a pathetic being.

His testicles probably didn't get much use anyways. He didn't need to cut them off himself of course....

Well, it looks like Trump actually has a chance , so why would he not vote for him?

If/when it comes down to the wire and Cruz had kept his "no vote with you conscious" attitude he would be in a bad position in 2020

I actually thought he'd run in 2020 using the "I was right in 2016 when I rejected Trumpism, I am smart please follow me etc." angle.

This coming from the guy who thinks that Ted Cruz and Donald Trump are not far-right enough. Who would you want as president of the USA then? David Duke? Adam Sessler? Morgan Webb? Alex Jones? G Edward Griffin? Steven Crowder? Glenn Beck? Rush Limbaugh? Micheal Savage? Ann Coulter? Sarah Palin? Jack Chick? David J. Stewart? the Westro Baptist Church? Nick Griffin? David Icke? Conservapedia? Metapedia?

Oh, who am I kidding. You want someone like Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Emperor Hirohito, Francisco Franco, Augusto Pinochet, etc. for president of the USA.

Disappointing. Probably because Trump is closer than Cruz thought he would be and doesn't want to be blamed when he loses. Still glad the Bush family has not endorsed trump. H.W has the most sense of any of them.

Dude this is not surprising at all; Republicans vote Republican, end of story.

Hitler could be running (he practically is...) as the GoP candidate and he'd still get votes.

It's the only strength the GoP has left, really, and I don't even know if it is enough because a lot of people are converting to more reasonable parties or even sitting this one out.

Either Cruz is submissive, or he is just trying to increase his likelihood of getting the nomination in 2020(because it looks like Clinton will probably win.)

This seems political .

I bet in all reality he's voting for Gary Johnson and secretly hopes that Clinton will win. Then he will run against Clinton in 2020.

That's 100% what his angle was. I wonder what changed his calculus. Is it just that the vast majority of the Republican party got behind Trump in the end and he found himself virtually alone?

The GOP is loyalty above all else.

More reason to not vote for Trump though, Tea Party cancer Ted Cruz is voting for him.

Oh you know, no big deal. Trump accused Cruz's dad of killing Kennedy and also called Cruz's wife a dog but no problem, right?

Why should anyone be surprised. He copied and pasted Trump's immigration plans by saying he was for a wall among other things. In an attempt to close the gap with Trump. It obviously failed. But it showed Cruz will compromise and sell out for political gain, like the majority of politicians.

If he openly came out and said he was voting for Clinton. It would not sit well with the GOP. And unless he wishes to be a senator for the rest of his political career. Supporting someone like Clinton won't do him any favors.

So maybe edit that post or quote the right person.

His angle is that Trump is a lot closer to beating Hillary for the presidency then anyone expected and even in some polls are ahead particular in Florida.

So if he stands behind Trump, he can't be blamed if/when Trump loses. Because no matter what Trump does have millions of americans behind him and they might "remember" when Cruz runs in 2020 or 2024
