My friend and I look like we're both going to be unemployed this summer. We also have a ton of unbeaten games from all the time that we were working or in school... so this summer I was thinking maybe we could spend like a week or more straight grinding through as many games as possible, all day every day. And we could stream this live on BlogTV or a similar site. We could have a Wii day, an Xbox day, a PS2 day, etc.

Good idea? Bad idea? Tons of people seem to watch when Gamespot does it, say playing through the first 6 hours of Super Paper Mario. I've seen a guy playing poker streaming his playing similarly and it seemed like lots of people were watching.

It's hard to say... I wouldn't watch it, but I'm g uessing there would be people who would. Give it a go. If nobody watches, nobody watches, and you just have fun playing :D.

What if we just drink 8 pots of coffee a day so we swear and yell a lot, and throw out comments like "BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!!!!" constantly?

Honestly I detest watching people play the games. Unless theres a controller with my name on it I'd rather finding something else to do with my time.

I wouldn't watch, biggest reason I go tot the game marathons on GS is kinda the chat :P But I can't watch someone else play unless they have an awesome commentary or super-great skills like in a speed-run or a perfect run.

It's a bit like watching football, isn't it?

No I enjoy watching football because I admire the players for their talent and realize i'll never be as good as them, and the joy I get for supporting and the passion of cheering on a team. But with video games this is completely different, I don't watch because I support the player, or admire his skill.

I'd watch speed runs, or weekend marathons of a series, but probably not just regular gameplay.

I'm hesitant to watch videogame streams. See, I watch a popular stream on Mogulus, where there's a nice group of people to chat with, funny people providing commentary as they play and interesting games to watch. Pretty much, you've got competetion. I'm content with my current stream, and I see no need to check out yours.

I'm sure someone would watch. I for one can't stand watching other people play games. If I'm not playing, I don't really want to watch.

For some reason, i like watching people play games, Well, not watching the poeple but watch the game they're playing, even if its one I played before. I don't know why.

I wouldn't. Why watch someone play a game when you could play a game yourself.

It depends on how it's done. I could see myself watching if there was a splitscreen with you and your friend and the game you are playing. So you can get the human element plus the gaming. This is all under the assumption that you and your friend are somewhat interesting, though.

If your commentary was entertaining/informative, I would definitely watch it from time to time. I say do it; you've got nothing to lose.
