Anyone who watches any form of sports surely has heard of placing bets on a game. eg: 6000/1 that the Cubs win etc.

It is a multi-billion dollar industry where millions of people world wide place their bets and if they are right, they can win lots of cash. I place bets during the football season and often win about $30-50 a game which funds my games spending:P However there are people who do look down on betting and say it isn't right.

Simple question folks, do you bet on sports? If yes, how often?

I don't. Waste of time and probably money as well. My dad does bet on football games every now and then and often wins small amounts(like 30 euros).

@johnd13: Is it a waste of time if you win regularly eg: 5-1?

Well it's a waste of MY time. If you enjoy betting and your winning ratio is that high then I don't see why not.

I did fantasy football one year. I didn't ever do well because I could never keep up with all of my players and the stats. that's about as close to game betting as I got. I'd rather play scratch-offs.

I play fantasy sports with small buy-ins, but it's more as an incentive to keep up with the finer aspects of the sport and to keep in closer contact with my friends and family. I don't make enough on it to be worth anything other than a hobby.

I like my income gambits to be more stilted in my favor, but I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the practice, either.

For those of you who do fantasy football, isn't it rigged? I never trusted it.

Why would you say it is rigged?

@Master_Live:

It just seems really easy to rig if i wanted to rig it. It is essentially a computer simulation so i don't trust that.
