Any thread that uses the word paucity is fine in my book. Seriously though, I like any thread that actually makes you think a little. Either that, or is really funny. Religion/politics threads used to make me think, but now they're all about the same thing with the same people. Too monotonous.jim_shortscome to think of it I haven't seen a religion thread in about a week now. is this the calm before the storm?

Too monotonous.nickmagcome to think of it I haven't seen a religion thread in about a week now. is this the calm before the storm? I'm actually planning one in the next few days. I'm going to try to bring a little new information to the masses. Who knows? Maybe tomorrow the OT will become the church and state union.
Hmmm, how about deep subjects and the use of pure facts to back up your arguement? Oh, and leave out some "debating veterans" (lookin' in your direction Carlos and LJS), just to spice things up a bit. Another thread might just have something to relieve the boredom. However, DO NOT MAKE IT IDIOTIC! Video_Game_KingExcuuuuse Me!!!
^ So far, the ideal thread needs to be funny, thought-provoking, without pr0n or swearing (practically impossible on GS, at least if you want to keep your account), won't attract the attention of a GS veteran (also impossible), has a variety of 'tricks', and possibly include the word 'paucity'. Still a pretty wide field, can anyone think of other criteria?
(Coincidentally, by using an ancient form of numerology created by a Nepalese cult thought up by me in the last few seconds, the letters of this message can be divided into the word 'bump')

There isn't such a thing as an ideal thread, seeing as different subject matters appeal to different people. The ideal thread is completely subjective, and although there can be guidelines concerning the construction of these threads, the way their content is received is completely up to the person who's reading it. Ask yourself "What is the ideal thread?" and try to answer it yourself. Do not seek another person's idea of the perfect thread. Franken_Berry
Mkay, what's your guidelines for threading, then? It's not for my sake anyway - I'm much more likely to respond than create.

Something that has grammar well composed enough to read, with proper citation of borrowed sources that could provoke a response rather than a statement from another user.[QUOTE="Sgt_Homonculus"][QUOTE="Franken_Berry"]There isn't such a thing as an ideal thread, seeing as different subject matters appeal to different people.
