And I thought it was a great film.

It really made me think.

Particularly the ending, where Jigsaw shut the door on Adam - it was just terrible. Can you even begin to imagine dying of starvation in a dark wreck of a bathroom? Spending the rest of your days like that?

The film really engaged me with the characters too. Some of them I felt were b-expletives, and others, I felt a strong sense of sympathy for.

Wow. One of the best films I've seen in a while actually.

I'm glad you liked it, it's one of my favorite films. The next two in the series are good, but certanly not better than the original.

Yeah, it was rather good. The first Saw was my favorite out of the 3. The second was pretty good, but the third wasn't as much.

The first film I really enjoyed, the other two, had their moments.  I'm looking forward to the director's next film. I think it's called Dead Silence.

I thought the first was mediocre at best.  The second a friend rented and wanted to watch with me, so I did.  Big mistake!  Won't watch the third.

But if you liked the first, then bully for you.

That looks very good. And if you're they guy I spoke to in a thread a while ago about Grindhouse, I did a little research into it, and I've got to say, it looks pretty damn good.

I'm excited about it. Don't know if you've seen the trailer yet, but it's posted on yahoo, I think.

I hate slasher films.

But if you like them, watch Hostel. It's much worse.

i remember seeing it when it was first released. I've seen a total of four moviegoers get creeped out and leave before the really gory parts.

as far as modern horror films go...it takes the cake for the most part.  the ending actually got me, and that was a pleasant experience.  after watching it, i was thinking to myself how i wish more nowadays horror films were better and not so teenish if you know what i mean (although i loved scream which perpetuated the trend greatly).

Yeah, the Saw series is pretty good. 3 would have been a great ending for the series, but they are actually making a 4th movie now.....

Hollywood is greedy, end of story. If I ever become a director I will make sure I have the rights to my movies so they can't make any crap that I didn't plan....

The original creators of the series left the franchise to move on to bigger things.  The movie WILL more likely suck ass but still make a ton of money.

Not many directors have that luxury, unfortunately. Unless you're like Speilberg or Lucas. Especially true if you're a first time filmmaker.
