Update: In Connecticut, Gov. Malloy has just signed a travel ban, effective at 4 p.m., only certain people will be able to use the highways now. It's a blizzard.

I and my fellow employees were released from work early today because of a snow storm that's hitting New York City. We were let out at 2:00 PM, two hours earlier than usual.

The power companies in CT, Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating, have predicted that 30% of their customers will lose power, due to wind gusts.

I shoveled earlier this morning. I shoveled again this afternoon. Looks like I'll have to shovel again tonight. I have to shovel frequently or else it'll be too tiring to shovel if I let the snow build up too much.

I'd give one of my nuts for a snow day right about now...

I got snow on January 17th. None since then, not expecting any after. The only time I'll get snow is when that one lucky storm passes through (once or twice a year).

Holy fvck yo, sooooooo much snow in Toronto. I don't think we've had this much fall at one time in a long time.

I hear boston is about to get hit really hard! They are literally banning people from driving.

I live in Saskatoon SK and I have never seen a school close for a snow day. it was -45 Celsius the other week and we still go to work and school we have 3 feet of snow you can't park on side streets. but still no snow day. I think a lot of city's are full off pu$$ys out there. if you had anything close to what we get in the winter you would all have a state of emergency. it not a small city ether 280,000 people living here and never a snow day Addict187

Saskatoon doesn't get lake-effect snow like we do here. If Saskatoon did, I'm sure there'd be school closings as well.

Ontario, with a snow day today. I thought it was pointless to have one when I woke up but I've spent hours shovelling today. We got 35cm.
