100% agreement with you on all of these. Though I will say that the first two seasons of That 70's Show were alright. But It just went downhill from there.

Big Bang after Penny and Leonard started dating. The sexual tension between them was what was funny about the show.

Friends, Seinfeld, Big Bang Theory. Ive watched all 3 of those shows and I have absolutely no idea why they are so popular.

Not really a fan of Big Bang theory, although I only really know a couple of people who like it. The more I see of it the more it just sort of seems mean-spirited.

Edit. I don't really like Friends, but at least it's relatively harmless as opposed to poking fun at any specific group.

What makes it mean-spirited/who are they picking on?

It really seems like the show is about laughing at nerds. Perhaps that's not the case, but the more I watch the more it feels like that's what the show it about.

Geeks and nerds. 70% of the shows' humor is targeted at those who enjoy geeky hobbies.

No, I'm not bitching. A character will just say something about a geeky thing they like, and the dipshit audience laughs their asses off. It constantly relies on stereotypes to pass as humor, and it doesn't work. It is just mean spirited.

Also hate might be the wrong word, it's not like I find the show particularly offensive. I simply find it to be unfunny for the most part. Same goes for Friends.

Yeah, I guess so. Although I'm not a big fan of the show, I don't mind it I guess being mean-spirited to nerds never bothered me because A) I'm a nerd myself and B) nerds usually (in my experience) love laughing at their own nerdiness.

Can agree with the entire list to at least some sort of degree, except for That 70's Show, not sure what might be wrong with that one.

And yeah, I also find Friends quite overrated, if it is a show that can still be considered overrated. No matter how hard I try, I can never really seem to get into that show, feels too mediocre, and often times seems too boring.

I've watched mulitple episodes of it over the years, and not one ever made me even giggle. When a show that is so popular, and yet doesn't make me laugh, or entertained, I consider it a pretty crappy show.

Seinfeld - I actually hate this show. This is the dumbest fucking sitcom shows ever on my list. I saw two episodes because a friend said he loved the show. I watched the one with the Soup Nazi and it wasn't funny - just plain stupid. The other one was with the belt buckle hitting the urinal and he had to throw the belt away because of it - again, fucking stupid.

Friends - I really, really, really dislike this show. But I would watch Friends (every episode) straight through (aside from breaks to eat, sleep and use the bathroom) if it meant that Seinfeld was erased from the world.

The Big Bang Theory. I never understood how it was funny.

At this point The Big Bang Theory actually does appear to be a pretty bad show that does have a fairly large amount of haters, or dislikers. Actually does not seem to be a sitcom so many people around you love, just sayin'.

Also, I think I'm now getting the same impression for Friends as well. Yeah, bad show.

To be honest I think there are a lot of bad sitcoms out there, (if sitcoms that don't really make you laugh are considered bad.) I definitely don't laugh very often while watching numerous sitcoms.

I can't stand Big Bang Theory or Friends. Don't know how people stand those.

30 Rock and Parks n' Rec are good. The Office was okay until I grew weary of the characters.

Also, Big Bang Theory is a terrible show with terrible characters; I feel it deserves special hate-mentioning.

I also dislike anything with a laugh-track. How does that not annoy every single person?

Big Bang Theory...basically any comedy on CBS.

Most of the comedies I've liked over the last decade have been critical darlings but couldn't draw an audience worth a damn; notably 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, and Arrested Development.

Big Bang Theory

There are a lot of shows where you really have to start from the beginning and get to know the characters. Often times you can't just jump into a show, watch two random episodes and "get it". A lot of the humor in Seinfeld is the characters, how they interact with one another, and how they react to situations.

Arrested Development is the perfect example of this. You really have to watch that show from the beginning, and it's very well suited to binge viewing and multiple viewings. There are so many subtle jokes in that show. Throw away comments, jokes that are setup and not delivered until future episodes (or even seasons), jokes in the background....you won't catch a lot of the finer humor in that show unless you really pay attention. Arrested Development is like a fine single malt scotch. If you drink it haphazardly, you'll miss the subtle layers.
