How would it be public? Tattooed on people's foreheads? This would also require mandatory testing...Which costs money, and this doesn't really serve the public-at-large in any way other than labeling people.
I see no benefit to that whatsoever, and even if it were public, new infections can take up to several months to show in tests, so even if testing occurred every few weeks, the data would not be very current. Also, medical records are pretty tightly controlled and for good reason.
no, however that "tattooing it on their forehead" idea should be reserved for people that know they have an STD and yet keep it a secret and pass them onto other people
