I beat it in like 6th grade way back when it came out. All I really remember (besides many hours breeding Chocobos) was it making me never want to play another JRPG ever again. Kratos refuses to die, so I think he would win. After playing GOW3, I also think he could take down those giant weapons.

Sephiroth's clone overcame death while he was a part of the lifestream, which is kinda the river styx, then fooled the planet into giving him a bunch of energy by summoning a meteor. Sephiroth....supernova. Kratos vs Jenova..maybe.

Sephiroth would just stand there trying to look all anime fashionable or something and Kratos would just knock his ridiculously long sword out of his hands with his Blades of Whatever They Are Called Today.

So was Hermes, but we all know what happened there...
Hermes was lame for a god, The Flash is way faster than him, so fast that he needs an special kind of death to catch him and he doesn't get tired so easly.
Well, Sephiroth's strongest attack is the Super Nova, and Cloud somehow survived that and killed him in the end. If someone like Cloud can kill Sephiroth, Kratos will crush him easily.
