Anyway, your habit of making claims and only later bothering to check the facts makes you look just plain foolish.

@Ballroompirate: Yes, I understand how math works. That has NO bearing, though, on the fact that a 6% unemployment rate really isn't all that high. Could it be lower? Of course. Would it be better if it was lower? Sure. Still, 6% is really not an unreasonably high unemployment rate.

Why would I tell anybody that? At no point have I said anything that would lead a reasonable person to believe that I don't think those in a minority matter.

The fact that you think that the raw number of unemployed has any bearing on whether or not the unemployment RATE is too high shows us that you lack a basic understanding of statistics and economics.
