"Russia's military is busy building autonomous tanks, unmanned vehicles and other weapons one won't be ashamed of in the 21st century"

Research Institute in Russia presented their latest combat ready cyborg technology to Putin. Better watch out America !!!

As you can see, the cyborg was able to complete the circuit without passing the outside red lines.

why not build the automation into the tank/vehicle itself rather than trying to make a human equivalent which would need to control the thing the same way a person would?

This was probably just for the media. I wonder what Putin was actually there to inspect given the current tensions. He looked bored watching this lol

LOL Putin looks bored, the "Cyborg" looks like a remote controlled pointless piece of equipment... why not make a remote control super tank?

Yeah the guy who planned the visit had better hope they have some actual tesla troopers on the level below but seriously no one ever shows the public their most promising non-conventional weapons. If you are lucky you will get a glimpse of them when something goes wrong in an operation like the helicopter with stealth features used in the Bin Laden raid or when they are used in war. The public didn't know about the F-117 until operation desert storm for example. A nation run by an ex-KGB guy would probably keep an even tighter lid on things then most as spies judge success by their ability to keep secrets until they absolutely need to use them.

A cyborg is a cybernetically enhanced human being. An android is an artificial human being or automaton.

This looks more like Daft Punk.

Even I'm less than impressed.

Getting an automaton to follow carefully-painted red lines on a flat surface is a high-school project.

Robust artificial vision that can function reliably in a real-world setting is much more challenging.

Hmmm.... so far in this thread we have a shit mannequin that can travel at up to 3mph on a quad bike and a petrol powered cow that can carry your luggage. I don't think the world needs to quake quite yet.

Obsolete technology like KA-50 and SU-25T can practically operate itself. Remember as well: It was Russia, not America who started the space race. I wouldn't discount them just yet.

Russia was in space first.

Russia would have also been on the moon first if it wasn't for shortcuts and risks resulting in deaths as well a an change of administration.

America is also heavily depended on them. Much of the equipment in the sky today and used to launch if based on or Russian technology.

Making out America is way ahead of Russia is nonsense: they practically need them to get in space - thus, it became a threat.

How could you also be on the moon first? Only one country can be there first.

Why would I be on the moon? Why would an entire country? Why couldn't multiple countries land on the moon at the same time?

Huh? What? Eh?

No Gerg. I mean Boston Dynamics. They are a subsidiary of Google. Just because Google owns them doesn't mean the results of their work isn't their own.
