No, suits are expensive.

I doubt it will get dirty at all. It will probably be just them answering questions to the mod and not really debating at all.

These aren't debates as I see them. I see them more two people pontificating with someone else in the room.

I would do this if I didn't have a Physics exam tomorrow.

Looking forward to it, should be entertaining. Obama will be going for the brain while Romney will be going for the balls. Should provide a few interesting moments.

Watching the debates right now. Can't wait until this whole debate gets fact checked. Romney is coming off strong though or at least imo.

Have to admit, Romney is coming across really strong. He came prepared. Obama looks off his game

Sounds like Obama keeps stuttering like he doesn't have a speech or know what to say.:|

Are you guys watching it now? My god it's giving me a headache. I had to turn it off for a while.

But I'm watching the part about taxes. Romney is actually doing a better job of selling his tax opinions.

#22 Posted by DavesAlt (965 posts) -
Romney certainly is coming off as stronger

Didn't you know? The president can create jobs and is fully responsible for how the economy is. I hear he also has magical powers to control the gas prices!

Obama will get is rythym. Romney is well prepared and actually is spelling out a plan that the Repubs failed to do IMO

Only George W. had the magical powers to control gas prices. At least that is what we learned here and on the news when it hit 4.21 under Bush for that time!

President can't create jobs, but they can do things to assist the growth (which sometimes means getting out of the way)

I have to agree, coming from an ueberliberal.

#33 Posted by leviathan91 (7763 posts) -

I can see gifs being made after the debates. There are some funny moments when either one just stares like "WTF serioulsy?"

#34 Posted by Blue-Sky (10333 posts) -

Romney is not being specific about anything.

He answering the results of what he wants to happen, but not explaining how it will happen.

Meanwhile, Obama is explaining, how he shit doesn't logically work. So Romney just goes to the talking apoint about the plight of americans.

#35 Posted by Rhazakna (11022 posts) -
Obama is getting better now that he's talking about corporate welfare (not that subsidy will decrease in any significant way if he gets re-elected), but Romney is debating in a far more skilful manner. This debate may end up having a big impact.

#37 Posted by Nonstop-Madness (9486 posts) -
Both have been pretty good. Romney isn't slouching like many expected. Obama hasn't been as strong as usual but entitlements is next and Obama will probably do much better.
#38 Posted by Blue-Sky (10333 posts) -

It's over.

I'd have to say Romney wins this round.I think Obama made the most accurate and detailed responses but the debates aren't about that. It's about visual presentation and Romney was more aggressive, he faced Obama (while Obama was more passive, facing the moderator) and was more consistent in his speech. Too bad his reponses lacked any detail. He essentially bashed Obama on numbers without offering any real alternative to why he's is better. Just empty promises for the most part.

#39 Posted by PonchoTaco (2175 posts) -
Whether you agree with Romney's positions or not, you'd have to admit he did take the first debate.
#40 Posted by Rhazakna (11022 posts) -
Obama did really quite poorly. His responses were poorly formed, and his statements were largely devoid of logic and rationality. Not that Romney was any more intelligent of course, but he came across as much, much better.
#41 Posted by jimkabrhel (15420 posts) -

If you look at the responses in this thread, those that lean right think that Romney won handily and those that lean left think it was a wash, though Romney was good.

Two schmucks bullsh*tting us with rhetoric and lies. What's not to love about politics?

Anyone who knows about political debates knows that Romney won. If Romney was better than Obama (which he as) how can that be a "wash"?
