Roll Call - April Fool's Day Edition

Sorry about the long wait between new Roll Call threads. If anyone has suggestions for themes for upcoming RC threads in the future, send me a PM. We're open to suggestions, and we'll switch them out the first of every month--sooner if we can get people to post in them more often.

As far as this one goes, yesterday ws April Fool's Day and of course, the internet was not at a loss for pranks and stunts. For example, Google Maps had posted a Pokemon Challenge yesterday in which users were invited to search for 150 Pokemon using their smartphones and Google maps. And me, like an idiot, wasted the entire day looking for them. I actually found all of them, except Mew (#151.) I don't know whether to be proud of myself, or ashamed. Actually both.

How about you? What were some of the more interesting ones you came across?

The old thread lingered on for way too long, and a new one was long overdue. I know we haven't got the traffic we used to, but I can make more of an effort to keep things rolling.

I've always been off but it's not from drugs. It's part of the pre-employment screening process for my new job I'll be starting soon.

Those things are hard to find.

I had to go on the internet to find most of them.

I thought they were randomly generated.

What happens if you get them all?

The first 150 were in pre-determined spots all over the world, with multiple appearances in different areas. If you get all 150, you could have searched for Mew (#151.) He was harder to find because he moved from one place to another, plus you had to find the first 150 to get him. some people found him in the Amazon River, others found him outside Nintendo HQ in Kyoto, Japan. Others found him in other places. such as the Bermuda Triangle.

You didn't get anything special for finding them all--it was just something that I was dumb enough to see through the end, even if it killed me.

I'm surprised Google Maps still has the option to let me view my Pokedex two days later. These screenshots were taken from my phone about 10 minutes ago.

Man, what happened to this place? There used to be 100 times as many posts here. In fact, I used to hate coming to OT because by the time I finished writing a post the thread would be on Page 5. I'm not trying to be a buggy old man, but can someone give some insight on why activity has gone down so drastically? And what happened to user created boards?

It was already losing activity in the last year, and when the new site launched even more people left. But it's getting kinda better, and certainly not as dead as it was a couple of months ago.

Oh and UCBs and unions are gone. Only a few popular unions made it over, but as normal boards.

Can't believe they left because of the changes. I was off this place for about two years, and its not a problem.

Ah well, I remember things getting very cumbersome when unions were introduced. Addition by subtraction there. Though UCB's were a ton of fun when they were cool. It's crazy that you can curse here now though- and that post above me would've been deleted for spam. I suppose all the old GS neckbeard mods made their way to reddit and 4chan...

Part of me is ashamed that I had so much free time, I DID manage to get them all. When word got around for 151, I said "F**k that." I was done.

It still does. From what I understand, this was done as a favor for some of people who helped the higher-ups dispose of some bodies and incriminating evidence before the cops showed up.

Would've posted Saturday, but spent most of the weekend having to re-update my laptop after having to reset it back to the factory settings. Thank God I had most of my important stuff backed up on an external hard drive.

I've had a year of practice between bouts of sending out job resumes every other day. Only got a few weeks left...just waiting for my start date for my new job.

@hallenbeck77: Not much, finally got a PC to post here and I see some of the members that used to post here alot aren't here. Sucks.

There was a huge exodus, but I'm still sticking around for as long as I can.
