Rickroll... ugh.

I just Rickrolled and I'm not too happy about it. But then I was thinking, "hey, it was just a joke... I'll laugh and play along." Rickrolls are perhaps one of the most annoying things ever, but is it ever appropriate? Is there ever a time when a Rickroll is OK? I mean, it's still annoying, but can there a time and place where that kind of thing is just called for? I have never Rickrolled anybody and I probably only will if I find it deserving.

(A recent example was that the New York Mets were having a choose-a-sing-along contest and Rickroll won. They were asking for that!)

(Oh and for some reason, I can't disable the bold above... it's very annoying.)

Anyway, share your thoughts on Rickrolling.
