Rate the song above you v2.0

#1 Posted by Storm_Marine (11809 posts) -

Since the last music thread was popular while it lasted, here's a sequel. Basically just rate the song above you out of 5 and then embed a song for the next person to rate.

And to start off this thread with style....

Not really my style of music, but musically it seems quite difficult, especially that of the drummer. I didn't particularly enjoy it but I can see some appeal so I'll give it a 3/5.

Classical is something I don't normally listen to, but can be rather enjoyable from time to time. 3.5/5

2/5, not my favorite kind of music.

I can dig that above ^^^ while sitting back.

Are you referring to the music thread that I created? Because I am kinda proud of how it turned out :3 lol :p

@k2theswiss: Interesting. I'm not a huge fan of folksy-type songs, but it could have been worse I suppose. 5/10.

Also, I thought the word 'song' was usually reserved for music that has lyrics....but I'm fine either way with it.

7/10, gotta love MJ but not my favorite by him.

#10 Edited by Kevlar101 (6583 posts) -

@Assassin_87: 7/10 . God-damn, I am in love with those instrumentals. Such an awesome sound. Buuut....those vocals just ruin it for me. I can't stand singers like that. It's a good song.

#14 Edited by one_plum (6362 posts) -

Pas tres bien 2.5 / 5

#15 Posted by Storm_Marine (11809 posts) -

2.5/5 It wasn't that bad but I didn't particularly like it.

#16 Posted by Assassin_87 (2314 posts) -

8/10, great sound. Very doom-y.

#17 Posted by Crash6 (2989 posts) -

3/5.....would probably add .5 but I'm not really feeling the vocals

#18 Posted by hippiesanta (9947 posts) -

above ... 3/5 ......

#19 Posted by br0kenrabbit (13297 posts) -

@hippiesanta 2/5. Not a doo-wop fan but they obviously have talent.

Now for something completely different.

#20 Edited by SexyJazzCat (1083 posts) -

@br0kenrabbit: What can i say... i flat out don't like it. 1/5

#21 Posted by EPICCOMMANDER (688 posts) -

@SexyJazzCat: I've heard that song about a 1000 times from NBA2k13. It's pretty good, and even after literally a thousand times listening to it, I'm still not sick of it. 4/5

#22 Posted by the_bi99man (11054 posts) -

@EPICCOMMANDER: 3/5. Twas cool. Not really a White Stripes fan, but I've always thought that was one of their better songs. And I'd never seen the video before. And the video is great.

And now this.

#23 Edited by RushKing (1780 posts) -

@the_bi99man:

2.5 Technical, but I find it uninteresting and not impactful on me.

#24 Posted by the_bi99man (11054 posts) -

@RushKing: That was quite solid. Loved the guitar work. 4/5.

Here's one by that same group I put up before. This one is much less technical, much more melody.

#25 Posted by Storm_Marine (11809 posts) -

Eh not bad. 3/5

#26 Posted by SexyJazzCat (1083 posts) -

@Storm_Marine: Not bad. 3/5

Not really a fan of this alternative/pop punk stuff, sounds like Breaking Benjamin to be honest. 2/5

Something sexy for the thread, was at their gig so my head is still full of em:

#28 Edited by one_plum (6362 posts) -

Decent. 3.5 / 5.

#29 Posted by jasean79 (2375 posts) -

@one_plum: It's okay. I don't like the singer's voice, but the music's good. 3/5

#30 Posted by toshineon (19 posts) -

@jasean79: Not bad at all, 4/5.

Here's a foreign one, Swedish to be precise.

#31 Edited by GamingGod999 (3006 posts) -

3.5/5

#32 Posted by Storm_Marine (11809 posts) -

2/5 Merits of her vocals aside, not my style of music.

#33 Edited by one_plum (6362 posts) -

It was okay, but it started to get draggy by the end. 3 / 5.

#34 Posted by BossPerson (9475 posts) -

1/5, just seems like random sounds put together imo

#35 Edited by Assassin_87 (2314 posts) -

Solid song by The Strokes, decent live performance. 3/5

#36 Posted by theReturnoftheG (39 posts) -

Zakk Wylde

nooooooot a fan I'm afraid. 2/5

#37 Posted by Assassin_87 (2314 posts) -

3/5, I don't like post hardcore but that was cool.

#38 Edited by Crash6 (2989 posts) -

2/5....vocals are too much for me.........

#39 Posted by chessmaster1989 (29610 posts) -

2/5, the singing style really annoyed me

#40 Posted by Assassin_87 (2314 posts) -

5/5, great composition from one of the greatest video games of all time.

#41 Edited by hummer700 (10235 posts) -

@Assassin_87: Really talented musicians, however its too long and not my cup of tea 2/5

Here's mine

#42 Posted by Assassin_87 (2314 posts) -

3/5, good sound. It's reminiscent of a lot of the psychedelic/garage rock I already like. Never heard of the band though. Will check out more of their stuff.
