a muslim spoken word - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d16CpWp-ok

What is your purpose of being here, or do believe you have none?

#2 Posted by lostrib (41212 posts) -

no thanks

#3 Posted by Rhazakna (11022 posts) -

There is no purpose, to us, we just are. Attempts to create a purpose for oneself can be comforting but is ultimately fruitless and meaningless.

I watched the video. It's the usual "materialism is empty, religion x has the answers and will fulfill you". There's nothing particularly profound or even new in that video, and I don't know why you'd think there was.

Isn't Islam supposed to teach people to be humble? No one follows you around, there are topics and posts I want to respond to so I do. Stop being so self important and egocentric.

yes your ignorance could not even shed a speck of decency to go through the rest of this short video.

I gave it a chance, and then it got all preachy. So no thanks

Thinking humans are faultless is ignorance.

Thinking humans are faultless is ignorance.

I tried again, and it got worse talking about science. Still didn't make it half way through

I watched the whole thing. It's stupid and not anything you haven't heard before. Not watching it doesn't make you ignorant. I did, but I regret it. I could've done something more productive with seven minutes, like staring at a wall.

that's what makes life so awesome.

instead of giving us a clear path, we are born in a forest and given an axe to make our own paths

The purpose of life is to experience the universe in the 3d. Just have fun with life and do whatever excites you the most.

No thanks. I have no interest in what a religion devoted to abusing and trivializing women has to say.

The video gave no new insight into the question, just a bunch of preachy religious mumbo jumbo.

Shame on you for using an 11th grade vocabulary around grayfox.

Well, a video full of lame 'rap like' dialogue consisting of ignorant assumptions and throw back arguments about intelligent design. "No camera as good as the eye, no computer as fast as the human mind", yeah nothing but a shitty video.

There is no predetermined purpose in life, you have to create your own.

#30 Edited by Lone_Wolf_Lance (124 posts) -

I don't get it why us human beings are so obsessed with the thought of giving a purpose and a meaning to everything, life included. Some things are just more interesting when lacking purpose. It makes the outcomes more unexpected and thus more surprising. Seriously, if life had its own intrinsic purpose then we'd all be living our lives walking on the same road, leading us to the same conclusion. And how boring of a life that would be.

#31 Posted by br0kenrabbit (13357 posts) -

I have a more simple view of life: Why are we here? Because our moms got laid.

Amen for that. If they didn't, we wouldn't be here.

yeah because women dont roam nude in streets, and being sex apeal for teenagers is apperently abusing.

Nobody is forcing them to roam nude in the streets (not sure where that's happening though)

In our society women have the freedom to do whatever they want, just like the men. I'm sorry that you're so ass-backwards that you don't even realize equality is more meaningful than your religious views.
