Exclusive:I think I can confirm for you what I said some months agoAdele is performing the theme song for Skyfall, the 23rd James Bond movie. As far as I know the song is called Skyfall. I think if anyone else had sung the theme song this year it wouldnt have made sense. Adeles sound is the quintessential James Bond sound. She joins Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney, Carly Simon, Rita Coolidge, John Barry, Duran Duran and others on the long list of pop stars whove immortalized James Bond in song.

Skyfall will be Adeles first new single since her album 21 sold 7 billion copies in 13 different galaxies. The movie opens in London the last week of October, right when Adele will give birth to a baby, as well. The good news is, this should be an actual song with a melody and a hook, unlike recent tortures. More to come on this breaking news

Should have been Bieber.

Makes sense, I can't think of anyone better to sing it really, hopefully it's something big and bombastic like the old themes.

Biebs is too busy writing the theme song for The Hobbit.

She's got a good voice so fine with me.

#13 Posted by jimkabrhel (15428 posts) -

Sweet. It'll be a reason for my wife to see the movie with me. She loves Adele.

#14 Posted by Optical_Order (5100 posts) -

Well, that sucks.

She better not suck at this, or I will tweet even more about telling her how fat she is.

As long as I don't have to hear it 400 times like Rolling in the Deep I am fine with this.

Well I've waited 6 years for a proper sequel to Casino Royale and hopefully this will deliver.

Eh truth be told most of the Bond songs are uninteresting anyway....so I guess this will fit right in.

All her songs sound the same anyways. While i admit she's good at really stretching words in songs(someone like youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu) it gets annoying when she does it 50 times per song, and it happens in EVERY SONG.

Can't wait for the remix with Childish Gambino.

Cool!
#25 Posted by villa4europe (7081 posts) -

to be fair i dont care anymore, not because they started making the bond theme tunes poptastic but because they stopped using the theme song as part of the main soundtrack

IMO the magic of a bond theme tune was that it was integrated into the film, take the strings from you only live twice or IMO the best example the bridge to thunderball and the way they work it into the film, thats what it special, not the 3 minutes with the silhouettes

From what I remember, it wasn't that bad, lol. But then again, I am no movie aficionado.

Fun fact: Daniel Craig and the director wrote the script themselves and DC admitted they just winged it because neither has any writin experience. The writer strike was going on at this time so they couldn't get anyone to finish it so they had to do it.

Thankfully this time everything is falling into place. :D

you can't go wrong with Peter Sellers AND David Niven as James Bond as well as Woody Allen as his nephew Jimmy Bond

casting and talent years ahead of blondie

I like it. If taken as less of a "Bond" film and more as a straight forward action film that felt sort of like an extended ending to 'Casino Royale' then it is a pretty fun watch, plus visually it is fantastic.

kingkong0124

Damn right bro, his Bond is by far my favourite because of how closely he resembles the books. In the books Bond is a cold-hearted assassin..which is realistic because look at what kind of job he has lol. Craig's version is about as close to the novels as possible while still feeling fresh. Seriously, them rebooting the franchise this way was by far the best idea they could have done especially because the last few Bond films before Casino Royale were bad to mediocre.

#36 Posted by TheFallenDemon (13933 posts) -

Timothy Dalton is the best

#37 Posted by Big_Pecks (5597 posts) -

Adele is a good singer. Accepted.

#38 Posted by TheFallenDemon (13933 posts) -

So while we're at the topic of James Bond, what's your favorite Bond movie for all the former actors in the role?

Connery - Goldfinger
Lazenby - You know the one.
Moore - The Spy Who Loved Me
Dalton - Licence to Kill
Brosnan - Goldeneye

I completey agree, the old bonds were very silly, who were borderline reliant on magic to get them out of tight jams.

Plus I am an Adele fan, I know a great singer who is recognised for her talent as opposed being part model

I'd agree with you list except for Dalton....much preferred The Living Daylights.

Every time she sings I'm surprised she doesn't eat the microphone. And the speakers. And all the people in the sound booth. And... actually, how/why have we not all been eaten?

I am pleasantly surprised that Adele brings on a bit of an early 70s style.

That awkward moment when you can't play a Canadian band's song in CANADA because it's region blocked. :P
