Generally people respond better to positive reinforcement so that is what I try to stick with.

A mixture of the two. When dealing with others, I prefer positive reinforcement. Sometimes you have to go with the negative stuff, though.

Positive reinforcement mostly, you're just an asshole if you focus only on the negatives, not that there isn't a time and place for that as well.

This topic immediately reminded me of Whiplash.
