I'm feeling inspired by the Transformers and Fantastic Four trailers I saw prior to Spider-Man 3 this past weekend. Ripping off my previous irrelevant poll (Death Star vs. Unicron), who would win in a face-off:

Galactus the Devourer of Worlds or Unicron the, uh, Devourer of Worlds?

Galactus is the purple guy behind the silver surfer on the left, galactus is the giant transforming planet on the right.

Well obviously Unicron would win. The Autobot matrix of leadership is the ONLY thing that can stop him and Galactus is NOT the Autobot matrix of leadership...

Go rent Transformers: The Movie (the original), a masterpiece of animation. Then, check out Galactus, who is apparantly unmarried.

You'll be glad you did.

Tough call, but I'd go with Unicron. Unicron can only be beaten by the Matrix and I think Primus could beat him too. If you don't know, Primus is like "God" in the TF universe and Unicron is like "Satan." They actually made a Primus toy that also Transforms into a planet. There are pics of it in my TF Collection album in my user uploaded images if you want to check him out. Or you could just google Primus (not the band, that is lol).

Galactus was fairly easily beaten by Annihilus recently in the Marvel comics event, Anniliation. However, he was revived (or rather freed from his prison like state, Galactus wasn't dead, just being controlled by Annihilus) with help from Thanos. Then Annihilus was easily defeated by Nova with the Worldmind and the power of the enitre Nova Corps. I think Galactus was also beaten fairly easily in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline as well. I'm sure there are several other occasions when he has been bested by others (Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer).

The Voltrons would come in and annihilate both of them.

I would say Unicron as well and this is coming from a big Marvel nerd from way back. Galactus is more of a force of nature and as such he rarely has an agenda and is just usually concerned with feeding. In nature, once you encounter a certain about of resistance from your prey you realize that your will be expending more energy in the kill then you will derive from the consumption of said kill. As such the big G tends to wander off once things become too annoying and although I don't think Unicron could defeat Galactus, I would think he would be far too difficult a foe to take down for Galactus to threaten his very existence in the attempt.

Now if Galactus did have an agenda to kill Unicron then I have a feeling that Galactus would find a way. He's a being of living power cosmic energy and his race existed long before our (in comic book terms of course) universe even existed. He has been incapacitated but he always comes back and if a push came to shove scenario were to present itself then I would put my money on Galactus.

Having survived over 15 billion years, I'd have to favor Galactus, who was once described as a tangible embodiment of the will to survive.

I'm gonna go with Galactus. (P.S. Was Galactus even in the new Fantastic 4 movie? I didn't bother to see it but I'd like to know.)

Yeah but not in a particularly human form; there is only a vague suggestion of the "classic" Galactus look very close to the end of the movie. Of course, a guy with antlers in a big purple dress probably wouldn't carry too well in a photorealistic sense :)
