Here is very quick and crude a sum up of each to give you some idea of what each is.

Far left (Communist): No voting a single dictator, everyone else is equal, a Nero surgeon gets paid as much as a dustbin man, everything is owned, made and provided by the government, thus a planned economy, very tough stance on crime, full employment, requires world domination to work efficiently.

Left Wing (Socialist): Main industries to be under government, services such as travel/Health is cheap/free respectively, high taxes, strong on trade unions(workers rights) very high employment, it believes that people are only made criminals because of the situation they are in, so will be lenient on crime, however will try to "nip in the bud" or rehab.

Centre (The Middle way): This believes in part privatisation of rail for example, however keeping health service free, mild taxes, main industries are in the hands of the free market, government will step in when necessary, employment kept high.

Right Wing (capitalist/conservative): Low taxes, no free health service, everything is based on the individual and the pursuit of being rich, thus resulting in the free market becoming the strongest force, against the trade unions and workers rights, unemployment should occur, tough punishments on crime.

Far Right (Fascist): A single dictator, a military based rule, very tough on crime, people are not seen as equal results in allot of discrimination, mild/high taxes, however corruption is rife for the wealthy and powerful to get away from this, world domination is near the top of priorities, high employment.

I am none of them, I do not support any political party. However, I enjoy and fully agree with the basic principles of politics but in the modern age they have totally ruined it.

Don't support a political party or no political view, some people don't have even a political view which i find odd.

Also this is not asking about party, rather view point.

One question, simply why?

Maybe he just means that socialsim gets corrupted too easily.  Most of the examples in the world have failed or failed the people.  Very few of them actually empower the people of the country - rather a small select party comes to power.

Socialsim works in small settings such as communes, but runs into trouble when applied to larger populations.

[QUOTE="Taegukki"]Socialism = watered down communism. Right wing ftw.b1gb0y

One question, simply why?

Because both socialism and communism promote equality of results rather than equality of opportunity, and the idea is that all decisions should be made for the good of the community (hence "communism"), and all resrouces should be used for improving society (hence "socialism"). It sounds ok in theory, but it deprives individuals of being able to hold and advocate their own beliefs. It ends up harshly penalizing those who make money and rewarding those who do nothing, so that each person achieves the same results. The poor will have no reason to work because they are getting free income, and the rich will have no desire to work because their income is being taken from them. This inevitably leads to the downfall of society.

And in addition to that, it is our duty as American citizens to vote based on what WE believe and want as individuals, for ourselves. Socialism and communism directly contradict that.

That is why people support the right wing, rather than the left wing.

Quite wrong, if you look at strong left wing countries in Scandinavia such as Norway, that nationalised (run under the government) the oil industry and they do great for themselves, also most of the countries after WW2 have a socialist attitude for 2 reasons:

1)Everyone had to work hard together to get through the situation and found that a society works best together and for each other, even under such conditions.

2) It provides a more stable economy that isn't run by constantly panicking stock holders who can screw the world in one day, economically wise, which will have extreme knock on effects.

Overall you will find most countries that have spent a long time under socialist rule, live in a stable and relatively happy environment.

I voted centre, coz when it comes down to the economy, I'm a lefty, but I'm more on the right when it comes down to politics (such as immigration issues, war).

Ofcourse, the American lefties are still right-winged when compared to Dutch lefties (at least politically -- Dutch conservatives still support gay marriage etc).

Oh and btw: Socialism works, Communism does not. Socialism to me means capitalism with some communistic influence. Socialism still rewards hard work, but it prevents a lot of crime coz everyone is assured of an income. I think my country can be considered socialistic, although that seems to be slowly changing now.

So? That's just a Conservative view of Socialism. Socialism can work, and it does work. Just because Scandinavia has lower GDPs (trust me, many countries in Europe do, in fact, many have less than Scandinavian countries, including the Balkans). Besides, tax isn't as big a deal in Scandinavian countries because they don't have to pay for plenty of other stuff the government does for free... Actually, it's no different from America, the only difference is that they pay for healthcare and other similar things through tax.

First of all I'm not conservative, not even close. Health care in Scandinavia isn't free its paid for by taking money from people by force, money they earned. If you think stealing is okay then you shouldn't have a problem with socialism. What happens if you don't want to pay for government health care? You have no choice even if you don't use it and that's wrong. If someone takes a percentage of everything you earn, by force, then you are a slave, plain and simple.
