Currently we have 24 time zones and some half hour zones. Do we really need these? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time Why not just have one planetary time and you can get up with the sun if you like, or when it sets, or any time that is convenient to your work and play.

I'd like to stick with the time zones. You have to admit it'd be a lot harder to plan things without them.

Most people like to sleep at night and be awake during the day, this is how humans are 'designed'. Time zones exist because different parts of the world experience day and night at different times.

You will 'Experience' day and night as you always would. Just your day would start at your UTC and not your neighbors a thousand miles away. Computers do not like 'Leap Seconds' either.

Once there is regular space travel among travelers then sure. But as of right now, there is absolutely no need. We haven't met aliens yet and set up a trade port and haven't gotten to a point where anyone and everyone can travel around the solar system. Once there are people living on other planets other than Earth I see no problem with it. In the next hundred or so years we should start leaning towards a universal Earth time though.

The time zones as they are right now are more convenient that a planetary time, not to mention the impossible task of making every country agree with this.
