you go to open country and get a horse! first off its fast and can outrun zombies(even if their the fast ones from the new dawn of the dead and 28 weeks later) 2nd not many people would be around open country so less zombies. and 3rd and most important theres a diffrence between a hummer and a horse, if you are driving in open country in a hummer and a zombie jumps on your car you could get frightened and crash into a tree.

now if you are riding on a horse you dont even have to watch out for stuff like that because the horse will realize the zombie coming and book it. also did you notice how in 28 days later they went into open field and slept, no zombies were around to attack and there is a bunch of horses in a stable.

i got this idea from seeing the trailer for zombieland and playing oblivion. i dont really see any flaws in it but if you wanna tell me some ok.

What if the zombies were in a horse costume and that happened to be the horse you choose?

clearly you haven't read the Zombie Survival Guide. Horses get frightened by the smell of the undead, and will likely just buck you off and run for the hills, leaving you stranded, as well as announcing your precense to all the nearby undead.

  1. The horse would care **** about you and realise you are slowing him down, the first thing it would do is get your fat *** off it's back.
  2. The zombies could corner the horse and kill it and then kill you.
  3. Horses get tired, zombies do not.
  4. You can't shoot for **** while riding a horse.

But even if you hit a tree in a Hummer you'll just run right over it. Why not just barricade yourself in a strongly fortified building like a military base?

When would the horse have the oppurtunity to practice how it would react to zombies stalking it? It's natural instincts would kick in above any trust you may have gained from it. The smartest thing to use during a zombie apocolypse is a mountain bike. Muscle powered so you don't have to worry about gas, able to traverse terrain cars couldn't, silent, and it can be picked up and carried if needed.

Wolves would feed off of zombified carrion becoming zombies. Then the zombie wolves could take down faster moving prey. You're basically screwed.

Of course it can, easily. Zombie's don't gain any superpowers when they're infected, they keep all of the original corpse's physical capabilities. The average man can run maybe 16, 18 mph. Mountain Bikes can reach 30-35 rather easily

Zombie flesh is highly poisonous and wouldn't infect whoever injested it, but just kill them

In 28 weeks later both animals and humans could get infected, it just so happened that the hoses there weren't. Also remember that you've gotta be able to feed yourself, find shelter ect, so you would have to get off your horse and head for more urban environments at times also horses can't carry as much so you'ld have to take more trips to urban centres to get food. Best idea would just be to go to sea. Oil rigs should be unnefected, full of food and unreachable by zombies.

Your body is more open to the elements on a horse. A car affords better coverage against zombie what with it being a sheet of metal and all. And oh yes, zombies can bite horses.

It would be difficult to feed and care for the horse though. They require a lot of food and are really quite skittish under stress. Also there's all the difficulties of finding a horse, getting into the open plains etc.
