Parks and Rec....overrated?

I have watched the show several times, with some of the very early episodes of very poor quality (first season) and later watching some of the newer ones, which, while they had a decent story, just weren't very funny; and very much paled in comparison to the glory years of the show's writers other show "The Office." Though people use it as an example of a quality comedy when talking about shows like "Big Bang." Anybody else feel this way?

It's a good show.

Like all shows, people will make it into more then what it is or should be seen as.

Like pretty much every show on TV that gets popular people will claim it's overrated and a terrible show.

@the_plan_man: Its all personal taste, i think parks and recs its funny stuff, but i HAAATE Big bang theory so much, like it baffles me that it made it past 1 season. I think Parks and recs also hit its stride after the first season imo

I couldn't even make it through the pilot episode. It was awful, mainly due to Amy Poehler's character. I do find the character of Ron Swanson to be funny

Funny is subjective and it for sure isn't the joke machine BBT is. But if you are invested in the characters, the jokes and punchlines really feel earned.

It's awful.

Then again, wouldn't expect any less from major network comedies.

The Office is better.
