@megane: The setting sound promising for feels at any rate. I'll check it out too :D
just be prepared, it WILL make you feel
@ianhh6: Seconding Grave of the fireflies. If you're looking for some 'manly-feels' then go for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
@BranKetra: Isn't he in Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind as well? (an excellent movie for those that haven't seen it)
@ianhh6: I have not seen Spirited Away, but Hayao Miyazaki produces films of consistent quality, so you might prefer it after watching. A little trivia: Patrick Stewart voice acts in it.
Patrick Stewart's voice is always a big plus. You should watch Spirited Away though, amazing movie.

That is the film that we are talking about with Patrick Stewart.

That is a plan. You might like Princess Mononoke and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. They are both great films.
@BranKetra: Ha look at me forgetting how to read, thought you meant he was in Spirited Away too, which I sadly haven't seen
Reading Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo. A good light hearted manga but I am seriously sick of the "the girl you love forgets you" trope :( . I am glad they are past that but the mangaka should've ended the story there. Now its just a mess of a story.
@Gamerno6666: How far into that one are you? I watched the entire series and am like 45 chapters in, it's fun and at least it makes progress unlike Nisekoi, which is starting to kill me at this point

118 chapters. I didn't watch the anime yet cause I heard they rushed through a lot of things.
@ayanami000: You could try Log Horizon. I haven't watched it yet, planning to do so, but it's similar to SAO.
ive already watched log horizon and the other one. i forgot the title but the main characters are the 2 gamers and they are siblings.
Dammit one piece. Why do you keep being so awesome even after all these year. A bit sad now that its on a hiatus now. :(
Paprika is the pinnacle of anime movies; I can't believe it took me that long to watch it. What a ride that was. But as I was watching the movie, a strange sense of familiarity possessed me which impelled me to do some digging afterwards. It turned out that the movie is made by none other than the brilliant Satoshi Kon who made Mousou Dairin, one of my timeless favorites. What's more is that the staffs of both works share a few chief staffers as well.
I was disheartened though to learn that the guy died some 5 years ago. Such a bummer.
I also watched From Up On Poppy Hill recently, which didn't disappoint either. I appreciated the authentic feeling of post-war Japan and its countryside, and the backdrop of the plot was appealing enough. It also reminded me of the amiability of anime from the 80s-90s, which was really endearing.
@Gamerno6666: It's on hiatus?
That's surprising.
nah its back again. And what a way to comeback. :D
Saw DBZ: Resurrection F at the theaters today. Can't wait for Super to be dubbed. Lord Beerus is quietly becoming my favorite character.
I was watching Dragonball because I never saw DB or DBZ back when I was little (DBZ was always on when my family ate dinner so I never saw it when Toonami used to be on weeknights) I recently started watching Attack on titan finally. Going from lighthearted Goku and friends to freaky giants eating people.
anyone can suggest an anime to watch? anime that has a story of games like SAO??
if you haven't already Log Horizon?, OverLord? similar genre trapped in video games anime
current ones I reccommend are Shokugeki no Soma, God Eater, Rokka no Yuusha, & Ushio to Tora.. :P
Can anyone recommend me good shonen manga's? I've already read / caught up to the mainstream ones like naruto, one piece, bleach, AoT etc. also underrated ones like Psyren and maybe some others.(Can't remember any names though)

I've never read it but I heard My Hero Academia is good. It's well known though so you might already have read it.

Yup. Caught up to it. Its just naruto with superheroes. Still awesome though.
@GazaAli: I watched Paprika a few days ago. It was wonderful. Have you watched Tonari no totoro?
I did several months ago and I loved it. But I have to say, From Up On Poppy Hill is by far my most favorite Ghibli movie despite it being one of the least popular of the studio's movies.

Ahh, I see. Then I'll be watching those two. You should watch Prison School. It's on going and it's a blast.
Thanks for opening this thread! I just want to open a question for our fellow forum members. My question is, Which Anime Would You Most Want to Be Turned Into a Live Action Movie?
For me, I want Full Metal Alchemist.

It caught my attention as I was going over the summer calender a while ago but the cover threw me off...

None. Live actions suck and I'd hate to see a dear title being given that horrible treatment.

I would like to see any Mobile Suit Gundam series turn into a live action movie. After watching Pacific Rim, it was close to a Gundam movie and since were getting another Pacific Rim movie, I do hope Gundam receive the same treatment, a live action movie and I'm sure it will do well in the west. I watch all Gundam Animes but I have yet to start Unicorn.

You mean Monster Musume? Dear lord no.
I should resume my anime activities though. It's been a few weeks since I watched anything. I can feel the appetite being revived.
Haven't watched a ton of anime, but I am a fan. First taste of anime I got was when Adult Swim used to play Death Note. I have seen it multiple times through, actually prefer it in Japanese with subtitles, what an amazing series that was. Have also watched Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, and Hellsing. I should probably watch a few more since I do enjoy it so much.

Samurai Champloo is extremely good, first anime show I watched, Blood+ was an early one for me too, the 3rd quarter stumbles but overall it's quite good.
Guys/gals I'm looking for "realistic" or "grounded in reality" anime's. So no robots, magical powers or any of that nonsense. So how about some recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

Watch Trigun. Trigun is totally grounded. Seriously. Also try watching Lupin the 3rd.
I'll list of others for the type you're looking for:
Note: There's plenty of anime out there that's "realistic." You've got romcoms, dramas, mysteries, etc. it's just that that's not necessarily the stuff people think of when they think about anime, especially when you're talking with people who don't watch any. And I know it's a common complaint that Anime is crazy, but then you turn around and see that Hollywood made hugely popular movie where a recently thawed out super soldier from World War II teams up with a millionaire wearing a robot, a radioactive mutant, two government assassins (one of which who uses an incredibly out of date weaopn), and a Norse god to fight another Norse god and his army of aliens, which was based on source material where that's just the tip of the iceberg. Sometimes you just gotta put it all in perspective.
Who is your favorite anime animal? Chopper is my favorite :)
Charizard. [Only because he save my but many times back in Pokemon Red/Blue. Now that was the golden age of Pokemon.
