I used to play on yahoo all the time, had a really high rating and found out most of the high rated players cheat like crazy. Now I only play in person.

Chessmaster is a weak chess engine compared to Houdini 3 Pro, Komodo 5, Deep Hiarcs 14 and Deep Fritz 13 from Chessbase. You can buy Houdini 3 Pro in Chessbase.

[QUOTE="brucewayne69"][QUOTE="jim_shorts"]added and good luck What kind of tournament is this gonna be anyway? Blitz? Standard? Well it's yet to be decided. It depends on time constraints, and obviously people on OT live all over the world. Likely we will do an "online chess" game tournament, where I'll set it to two days per move, otherwise you lose. Might do double elimination if we don't get a lot of peopleIt might be fun. My chess.com account is Jim_Vincent_Lamar

I'm interested, I'd need to make an account though.
I'd vote for around 24 hours to make a move. Live would be difficult.

Chess engines still make a lot of positional mistakes and many positions they just don't understand very well.
In his match against Deep Blue, Gary Kasparov demonstrated that humans are much better at evaluating certain kinds of chess positions that chess engines still just don't quite understand yet. Humans are also very good at recognizing repeating chess patterns which chess engines are quite incapable of doing yet.

Chess engines have come a long way since Deep Blue But are you in for the tourney?Chess engines have come a long way since Deep Blue But are you in for the tourney?brucewayne69
They have come a long way but they can still be defeated by an experienced and talented enough player like Gary Kasparov, Magnus Carlsen or Vladimir Kramnik for example.
And yes I am in for the tourney. My username on Chess.com is Dani1234567 so you can sign me in with this username.

Yes. You can play pariah. His account is dani1234567. It is an "online chess" game, with 3 days per move. At least that's how "brucewayne69" set it up and challenged me, and it wouldn't be fair with different parameters. And in the chat just make sure it's him and he knows it's youAm I still in this? I'd like to play.
