Only one thing you should believe

To me the only thing you should believe is that your always gonna be yourself. It's pretty simple, you don't have to classify yourself into any belief system. You are just yourself. I could say I'm atheist, but I'm just myself. Whatever happens after death I'll always be myself.

Anyone else believe that? Behind the smoke and mirrors you are yourself.

I suppose I have a similar mindset in a way. It's why I'll never understand any form of organised religion (and even certain aspects of atheism).

It seems like a lot of people grow up believing (or being taught) that it's a choice to be made in life, and that just doesn't make any sense to me at all. It's fucking silly and a goddamn waste of time.

All that we know for certain is that we exist now here in this moment, suspended in a sunbeam on this pale blue dot we call Earth...

There's nothing special in what any of us personally believe. It's only our self-awareness and having the capacity to verbally communicate our thoughts in a concise manner that any such concepts exist in the first place.

None of this is meant to suggest that I'm in any way nihilistic though. If I was to to follow any sort of doctrine, it would be the religion of life, and that's really all that should fuckin' matter to anyone.

I was raised a catholic, but always questioned it in my life, especially in my early 20s(I am 27 now), I kind of let go of it because I just couldn't believe it.

After words I really learned to appreciate life a lot more, and put things in perspective for me. Whatever may limit you in life, attack it straight on, and get over it. I found out that in order to get the most out of your life, you have to become thick skinned, and forgive, learn, and adapt.

Don't ever let anything stand in your way. Stick to who you are. You only get one life! If you find something to do you enjoy, you won't be afraid of death. When you find something you enjoy doing, you find meaning in life.

I believe in facts & what's real. Simple.

The problem with this line of thinking is that technically I'm not myself.

I'm a collection of symbiotic lifeforms that just thinks im myself.

If all the rest of the collection of microscopic animals that goes into my substance buggered off I would be dead in a few days.

Does this account for the changes people go through? I read something I wrote from 10 years ago and barely recognize the voice that wrote it because I am no longer that person, my beliefs and experiences have changed me.

We hear a thought and we agree, we disagree, we qualify and make it our own. This happens again and again and again and in each instance we are classifying ourselves.

Triablism seems to be part of human nature, it's probably dangerous and naive to deny its existence or pretend we are above it.
