Negotiations to end the violence start tomorrow, so it may not be necessary.

Banning visas? Oh please, US couldn't catch a few Serbian war criminals. Plus, it doesn't really matter, because war criminals and organized crime can always immigrate to Britain and claim asylum and Britain will give it to them.

We need Donald Rumsfeld to come back and raise some hell. He'd make his bitch GWB do something serious about this.

I'm an American and I'm sick of Obama getting involved overseas. Let them solve their own issues.

The balls? You mean the absolute idiocy of going to war as a first option? Guess we all forgot about the war crimes and stuff that goes down in Africa.. Such as Rwanda during Clinton era, and Darfur during Bush Jr era.. Both things completely ignored more or less by both administrations.. There are bad things happening around the world, and the US (as well as pretty much every country) either condones it or to even supports a certain regime for economic and political gain.. What ever happened to speak softly and carry a big stick? This is no way is in defense of President Obama but specifically in attacking this dumb ass mentality.

In this forum, I've criticism of Obama being a "warlike" President, getting involved in Libya, Syria, and continuing the war in Afghanistan. In this thread, he just a big pussy who won't do anything about Ukraine.

So, "conservatives", which is it? You can't have it both ways.

How easily people forget what subzero mentioned about previous administrations. It's just very easy to criticize the POTUS in power because it's vogue. Except that criticisms usually put out are invalid, and ignore the many valid criticisms that could be leveled against this administration. It's all about talking points, not real analysis of our government.

Frankly the U.S needs to just stfu altogether. I'm sure the current Ukrainian regime is corrupt and also oppressive to a certain extent. However, it will be proven to be a charm in comparison to whatever other regime that the U.S might help rise to power there, just like what happened in Egypt and Tunisia a couple of years ago.

U.S' foreign policy is the shit. Its only capable of bringing states and nations to their knees, wreaking havoc everywhere and help bring to power the most deranged and demented fucks ever.

Im confused by republicans, they were upset when Obama went into Egypt, they were upset when we didnt go into Korea, and now what theyre upset that Obama might claim a possibility of war without being certain that he will commit to it?

Id say in normal circumstances not going to war would be the prefferable choice, but republicans cant seem to get behind either option.

European Union foreign ministers have agreed to impose sanctions on Ukrainian officials "responsible for violence and excessive force". In a statement, they said targeted sanctions including asset freezes and visa bans would be introduced "as a matter of urgency".

So, will the US follow?

I think we need to mind our own business for a change. Maybe work on our own country a little bit while we're at it.

Wise words. But not just the U.S.A.,Canada,Great Britain,France.I think each country should think of whats best for themselves.Work on our own economy, and among other important issues.I'm sorry for all violence and other issues around the world, but if you can't take care of your own backyard, then stay out of everybody elses.

People wonder why the government of the United States is as hated as it is around the world? Our leaders can never mind their own damn business. You can be certain our "leaders" would be extremely offended and irritated if a foreign government attempt to tell our government how to operate and what is and is not off limits.

Since 1992 Ukraine has received over $3 billion in aid from the US, so I would say Obama is well within his right to comment on the situation.

Instead of minding their own business, you support the United States constantly meddling in the affairs of others?

Our government has to constantly borrow in order to pay its bills yet we should be giving aid to nations? You are good with that as well? I'm guessing you are not comfortable with the United States getting its house in order instead of acting like the busy-body neighbor interfering in everyone elses business?

Perhaps it is splitting hairs but the number I find is 1.8 billion dollars in aid since 1991.
