The irony in Romnesia is that there is also something called Obomnesia. The only difference is that Romney's is positions he held 10 years ago, while Obama's are promises that failed the country.

That "pre-existing conditions" line was great. Shame it took Obama until the end of the campaign to wake up, now that Romney has a decent chance of winning.

Is there betting on the election yet? Might as well have debates in more spectator-friendly locations like football stadiums too.

His economic promises are kinda harder to gauge then the rest because the US is still recovering slowly. He never kept his gutanomo bay promise.

Front page of politifact has a thing of GOP vs Obama promises kept. Obama has 38% kept, 15% he compromised on and 21% being worked on. So far 17% of his promises have been broken in some way. So he's been fairly good for a politician (and frankly done quite well considering the other party) but he's not really worth noting. He is however better about this than his competitors.

... How can any one seriously support Romney's plan? His tax breaks don't even mathematically MAKE sense.. He claims he wants to lower taxes on the rich, not raise taxes on the middle, and not raise the debt..... Yet the only solution he has provided to keep the last two from happening are things like a deduction cap which no way makes up the lost revenue in the first.. Its mind boggling how any one can support this when the plan doesn't even make any fvcking sense.

He's failed to deliver promises on the major issues. You have to create a really trivial list to find areas he has met his promises.

He had a super majority in Congress for the first half of his term. He wasted all that time and political capital on Obamacare. There is so much he could have accomplished with a Congress that favorable.

Doesn't change the fact he has a rare supermajority in both houses of Congress and failed to utilize it to achieve what he promised while running in 2008. He certainly can't pass the blame on that.

The issue should be whether those promises actually helped the United States. Personally I don't think so but some think otherwise.

When he ran in 2008 he said his stimulus would keep unemployment below 8%. He failed. He said the economy would recover in his first term or he shouldn't be re-elected. He failed and has since changed his story. Due to Obama's policies this is the slowest recover of any recession since the great depression.

This recession was pretty bad in the US compared to the other recessions. The thing that may be hurting the recovery a little is the huge debt.Didn't he have to cut some parts of the stimulus because of republicans.

The recession of the early 80's had a higher unemployment, energy prices (when factored for inflation), misery index and inflation. We recovered a lot faster after that recession than this one. There was 5%+ GDP growth every quarter. Today we are lucky to have 2% growth. It's terribly low.

When he ran in 2008 he said his stimulus would keep unemployment below 8%. He failed. He said the economy would recover in his first term or he shouldn't be re-elected. He failed and has since changed his story. Due to Obama's policies this is the slowest recover of any recession since the great depression.

You do know the stock market is the highest its been in years, right? You make it sound like we are in the Great Depression of the 20's.

The economy is measured on GDP and GDP growth not the stock market. And based on that the growth is really really low.

[QUOTE="KC_Hokie"]On the largest issues he's failed....the economy, immigration, foreign policy, etc.worlock77

It will take years for the economy to fully recover. That prison is kinda hard to close because of all the issues with closing it.I don't remember why he did not tackle immigration

It would have been closed already if Republicans didn't throw a massive NIMBY sh*tfit.

The Senate was bi-partisan in the belief that prisoners shouldn't be transferred to the U.S. The vote was 90-6!

When he actually had the supermajority though he never brought up the issue.

Here's something about the reason to why that prison wasn't closed.

Everyone around me IRL seems to complain like it's the end of the damn world....the world's gotten through a hell of a lot worse than this

I will give credit that Obama prevented us from going into a Depression. No one realizes how bad it really was. But my support still goes to Gary Johnson.

He is seriously wasting time.

It's time to break out the empty promises as well as point to all of the times in his previous campaign where he said it was a two term plan.

[QUOTE="sSubZerOo"][QUOTE="KC_Hokie"]He had a super majority in Congress for the first half of his term. He wasted all that time and political capital on Obamacare. There is so much he could have accomplished with a Congress that favorable. KC_Hokie
.... His majority included Blue dogs and DINO's.. And those were the majority of seats lost in the last mid term.. I Even the Affordable Healthcare act needed to be heavily changed for compromise to be able to pass.. Its hilarious how simplistic you think things are..

Doesn't change the fact he has a rare supermajority in both houses of Congress and failed to utilize it to achieve what he promised while running in 2008. He certainly can't pass the blame on that.

 I am debating with Sloth again.. I point out that the super majority was made by DINO's and blue dogs, conservative democrats.. And his response "Nu uh! he still had a super majority".. Yet again he couldn't pass everything because that supe rmajority was made up by the said groups which were increasingly conservative.. Reps that had to heavily compromise to agree on.. How is it any one's fvcking fault? It isn't its called reality, I suggest you wake up and realize that you oversimplify everything..
