Got any proof?I think Cardinal Dolan is probably funnier than either one of the two candidates.

You need proof for a subjective opinion?
Is this a joke post? Obviously he wouldn't think that if he didn't have a reason to.[QUOTE="Aljosa23"]
I caught that post before you deleted it Storm. lol smh

Well then can you?
I answered this question before in the Skyfall thread. I'm not repeating myself bro.[QUOTE="worlock77"]

I answered this question before in the Skyfall thread. I'm not repeating myself bro.Which Skyfall thread? You've made several hundred.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt in this case. Are you kidding? He's the forum's resident Vatican cheerleader. Do you really have to ask why he holds that opinion?

The main one. I even explained why Quantum of Solace didn't turn out good.Which Skyfall thread? You've made several hundred.

The recent main one or the older main one?
I'm not gonna write an essay on why I think it'll be awesome so I'll just copypasta the other post since you're a lazy pleb:Quantum of Solace was a weird case. The writers strike was going on so Craig and the director had to finish up the script and plot themselves and neither have any writing experience. Plus this film has ridiculous pedigree behind it. Sam Mendes is directing and Roger Deakins is the cinematographer who is one of the best working today. It'd be quicker if you just presented proof that it won't suck. Here in this thread.

Reviews seem to agree thus far.
Got any proof? Not off hand. Though I think Dolan has a reputation for being "affable" and having a good sense of humor.[QUOTE="whipassmt"]

Apparently the event went well.

What proof do the reviewers have?
I thought they both were funny. Laughed a couple times at Obama's, probably more at Romney's. I was really surprised Romney was actually that funny, everyone says he's a robot.cslayer211he's a special robot. Most robots have flash memory in their heads. Mitt's got Read-Only Memory in his knees.
Mittens and Obama have writers who make up their jokes obviously. Delivery is important and Romney did it surprisingly well.
I was kind of surprised when I found out today that the Al Smith dinner was last night, I thought it would be later. I think the dinner is usually after the third debate, not before it, but it turns out There's a bishops Synod going on in Rome and Dolan just left today in order to get there.

I'd say in comedy delivery is everything. The worst joke in the world can be funny with the right delivery. Likewise the most cleverly written jokes can be painfully unfunny with poor delivery.
It was fun. These events where the president and the candidates make fun of themselves and each other are one of the few times politics doesn't suck.
Pirate700
It's all fakeness and theatre to me.

I always loved watching George W Bush at these things.
Bush is hilarious. I wish he was a bit more public events now that he's retired.I listened live to both candidates. Both were funny, though Obama always seems more comfortable in this kind of situation. Mitt's comedy writers gave him more zingers and potshots at Obama. Obama's writers gave him more self-depricating jokes.
I'm sure the "the other guys has a lovely family" crap at the end was BS, since they dislike each other, but it was nice to see a little civility.

Not gonna lie, I thought Romney was funnier. Granted both of them probably didn't write the jokes themselves, stll....good job Romney.
i'm so proud of you america.
we have all come together in the spirit of harmony and collectively pretended the rom is not in some kooky cult.
i would not have thought that possible but here we are ignoring the magic under ware, the massacres committed, the polygamy, the racism and the pack of perverted pedo founders who were run out of every decent community in north america and had to settle in a wasteland because that was the only place that would have them.
i guess it just goes to show us all what people are capable of when presented with a common enemy.
I think Obama is funnier tbh. Although I didn't see the beginning parts of ROmney's speech so maybe his best material was at the beginning.
I thought they were both hilarious. I think Obama was a little bit better. I've always enjoyed his sense of humor.
Especially when he joked about the predator drones. HILARIOUS!

Bush is funny. Remember that skit he did with Cheney riding around on a segway. I could imagine that Romney as a young man spent his time thinking of how to make money, Obama spent his time thinking of how to promote economic equality and world peace and Bush spent his time thinking of pranks to pull. Please Log In to post.
