No more free shipping on Amazon for $25 items or more

Considering the cost of shipping is going up (there is currently a diesel shortage in most of Canada), and has been consistently for the last 15 years, I'm surprised they kept it at $25 for so long. Here in Canada, when the dollar was below par, we were paying for shipping until $35 and I never had a problem filling an order that big.

Their shipping and handling tax also increased, still pissed about that.

I just bought a kindle for $10 and it gave me free shipping. Probably because it's normally $70. For some reason they gave me a $60 off coupon on it.

I started noticing that Ebay has almost all of the same types of things that I have been using Amazon for, cheaper, & free shipping most of the time as well.

I have prime baby.

With student discount on Prime, it's worth it.

I've been noticing that a lot of stuff on there isn't on netflix. Lots of DC animated movies and the random odd show like mr roger. I feel I could replace netflix with amazon prime pretty easily. And I would if I wasn't mooching off of my parents ha

$35 isn't too bad to get free shipping from Amazon.com.

That's only for add-on items. Regular items with Prime will always work. Last month one of my orders was $5 and I still got Prime.

What I don't get is if I have Amazon Prime, why can't I just order the Add on items. I already have free shipping without things being $35

They continuously add on to their list of "Add on" items.

what's the point, to stop people from super saver shipping they always wait until the 8th day to ship, and they always do UPS which doesn't deliver on weekends, and then it takes like another 2 or 3 days because UPS hands off the packages to USPS to deliver so it always takes like 2 weeks to get anythign Super Saver Shipping anymore, I no longer shop on Amazon unless it's to use their 3rd party sellers.

That's why I didn't renew it. I saw most things from $5-$8 were becoming add on items so I didn't see the point of prime. Just have to wait a bit longer when I buy stuff.

That's a shame. But I don't order things from Amazon all that much anyway. If ordered from there more often, then I would probably get Amazon Prime.

I'm an amazon prime subscriber so I get free 2-day shipping on everything. This doesn't effect me in the slightest.

Technically but I ship so many things from amazon as well as using their streaming video service that I save far more than I actually spend.

I don't use any of their services....and I just wait until I spend the minimum amount for the free shipping. I'm not in a hurry to get it...and I had a 30 day free trial....and didn't get some items in the two day period. All in all....I spend less than a prime member for services.

Eh, most of what I buy off Amazon is for the Kindle, so this doesn't really effect me.

It's a great deal if you replace netflix with it and are a student. Only $40 a year then.

rumors going around starting January 1, 2014 Amazon Prime is going to increase to $99 dollars

That sucks, but I have student prime so it doesn't affect me. I've been using Amazon's Instant Video more than Netflix since they have a great selection of 90s show/cartoons, and the movie selection are practically the same.

Sounds like they're trying to push more people toward prime.
