I watch scary films all the time and they not bothered me. Not even ghost which I seem to think is the worst of them all for me and not had nightmares or anything like that. Until last night. I watched the babadook book. I didn't think it scared me until had nightmare last night. It was the babadook book saying that what it said in the film in that voice. babadook babadook babadook in that same voice. In the dream I was in my bedroom too. It was 4:10AM this morning can remember looking at the clock thinking. Was that real. lol.

That voice well freaked me out. :P hehe.

@skipper847: Babadook will do that too you. Plus you never know who it is. It could be someone you love. Be safe my friend, and whatever you do, never let it in.

I want to watch that movie. Nevertheless, the scariest nightmares could never be presented in a horror movie. More of a feeling than anything visual. Used to have the same one over and over as a kid.

@MarcRecon:

I just googled it to see what you guys were talking about. Saw the trailer and it looks boring.

How is this plot different from other movies?

I don't want to spoil too much for you because it's a straight-forward story! If you check out the reviews on it, you'll see that everyone is pretty much saying the same thing. It's a "SMART" horror flick that doesn't take the viewer for granted! It doesn't rely on gore and jump scares like most of today's horror movies.

As a matter of fact, I would say that it's more of a psychological thiller then a horror flick! It does have some SERIOUSLY disturbing scenes, but nothing that i would call horror porn! The movie really does a great job of making the viewer generate the horror from their own mind as opposed to watching it on the screen.

You might or might not like it, just rent it or check it out on netflixs

Babadook was pretty scary/creepy, there wasn't a whole lot of actual scares like in your face "BLERGH!" type stuff. It was more psychological as the movie's premise surrounds. Won't spoil anything though. :)

This...

Cant stand those type of movies where they depend on sound to make you jump. One Moment its really quiet and all of a sudden loud noise. Its never the film it self but the sound what wakes me up. :P lol

But as you say this not a movie to make jump. Only one of the couple of films too I like from UK too. So you in US or other might not understand the accent properly.

I have nightmares, but they aren't the demon, ghost, random spooky thing type. They consist of things that could actually be real; like my ex-wife coming back to demand money from me.

I saw this movie last year and I thought it was really silly.

Maybe I watched it wrong or completely desensitized from the horror genre.
