My art paintings for you to view

Here are my realistic landscapes in acrylic on canvas. I created them by a blotting method using very large blotters like a plastic sheet attached to cardboard or a large sheet of canvas. Most of them had two or three blots or layers. The first painting which is a mountain with snow was done entirely with one single blot with a blotter a little larger than the canvas. And nothing was done with a brush on it.

But most of the paintings have some things added on top of the blots with a brush like small or large trees, water spray and sagebrush plants. The sizes range from 24 x 36 inches down to 18 x 24 inches.

And btw the last one is not an earth landscape, it’s in outer space but it’s still intentionally realistic (a gaseous nebula.)

Taking a quick glance these two caught my eye:

^ The last one you posted, the dark one, is supposed to be the aurora borealis in the background. But they didn't turn out very realistic as I hoped for. So I titled it "Strange Northern Lights."

Take some real art classes when you have some free time.

How is that not art?

There are some disadvantages to using large blots to make this art. It's hard to get some realistic shapes and appearances with it. So he may feel it's not real art because they don't look realistic enough. Which can be a valid complaint for some. For example it's tough to show depth and hard to create detailed rock surfaces with my blotting method.

But.. the advantages to blotting are nice smooth color transitions like in the clouds, and a nice snow drift appearance.

The thing is, "realistic" has never been a requirement of art.

This one is by far my favorite. From a distance it looks very similar to a painting my parents got when they were in China.

Hard to really judge on a computer screen but for what it's worth OP, I like 'em.
