i'm more into movies. there are some good shows but a lot of them get banished to extra subscription services like HBO and cable has a nasty habit of discontinuing the good ones.
tv programs do have the potential to pull off longer and more gradual character arcs (if they can get the talent involved) and that's something to get excited about. however, that length can be just as much of a burden. not a lot of ideas can support 10 hour seasons or whatever. a lot of the time, a concise 2 hour movie is the best way to tell the story.
Movies.
The commercials during tv shows always break any tension or excitement that some shows work for and they're just generally annoying.
I find myself watching movies on a regular heavy basis far more than TV shows and tend to find them much more rewarding.
Coin toss.
TV shows tend to stay longer with me though. Hate that feeling of post-show depression you get after no lifing something fantastic.
That's difficult to decide, but since I watch a lot more movies I'd say that. I've only got into watching TV shows since last year, and now I'm fully invested in a number of ongoing awesome shows like Breaking Bad, Dexter and The Walking Dead, aswell as shows which have already ended like 24 and The Shield.
I would say movies, can watch your favorite movies any time, and there's some really good legends out there. TV back about 15-20 years ago, would be more of a worthy competition against movies imo, but nowadays, not so much. TV's really lost it.Toph_Girl250
