MOVIE TRAILER: Guardians of the Galaxy

Here's the first trailer for Marvel's upcoming movie, Guardians of the Galaxy.

Just thought I'd share. It looks interesting so far. What's your take on this so far?

I usually know OF comic book characters without reading the comics. But this is the first time I have no idea who they are. Man, and Batista is lucky. This may be the first time a WWE wrestle is in a good movie.

I heard of them, but I don't know much about them, either. But not knowing about them definitely has me interested. it looks like it could be fun.

No problem. I think the trailer premiered on Jimmy Kimmel Live this evening, and it was on his YouTube page. I imagine it'll spread out everywhere soon enough.

Looks nice! Definitely intrigued by the movie. Will be seeing considering I have been following all the other Marvel movies.

Funny seeing Rocket Raccoon in a movie now! He was ridiculous in MvC3 in how silly and offbeat he was. Was a scary fighter too in the right hands.

Enjoyed Slither but loathed Super, nothing Gunn has done has really impressed me so I am skeptical as to whether he can handle a film such as this. Hopefully he pulls it off, because it could be fun and I like Chris Pratt, but this is currently at the bottom of the list of Marvel films I want to see.

Looks cool. I don't expect it to make as much as the other MCU films because of how unknown they are to the mainstream (other than seeing them in an episode of Ultimate Spider-Man I can't remember the last time I saw them outside of comics) but I'll go see it when it comes out. If I'm not mistaken Thanos is supposed to be in the movie so if that is made obvious more people may become interested.

Looks like a lame and cheesy action comedy.

Marvel needs to combine all it's superhero franchises (Guardians, Avengers, Fantastic 4, X-Men, etc). Too bad it'll never happen.

Looks a little too cheesy to me. They didn't even allow RR to talk, would have liked to have seen what Bradley Cooper has done with this character - I really hope his accent is cockney-ish.

I doubt this movie will do well though, action+comedy is hard to pull off correctly.

I liked the quirkiness of the song at the end. Looks ok I guess.

It's a nice new direction for Marvel. It's a little more quirky than the other Marvel films. It should be a fantastic film.

All I can think of is FBI Agent Bert Macklin when I see Chris Pratt.

It's only the first trailer, so I imagine he'll get some dialogue for the next one. As far as whether or not it'll do well, it's hard to argue with Marvel's track record so far. I think that even if it doesn't please the critics/fans, or even if it doesn't pull in as much bank as their past movies, it'll make enough to keep the studio execs satisfied.

Looks awesome, probably one of the few movies I want to see this year. Sucks though Nova won't be in it :/ was hoping he would have a cameo or something.

"Oh, oh guys I'm sorry, I didn't know how this thing worked." That part had me cracking up. I was a little unsure about this movie, but the trailer looked awesome.

Looks good. I think this will standout more than all these meteocre superhero movies lately.

It looks like it's going to be a fun movie. Will definitely see it.

I am pretty excited for this, Vin Diesel will be starring in it and every movie he's in turns out amazing

uhh... Zombieland? Shaun of The Dead? Hot Fuzz? Die Hard? 21 Jump Street? Kick-Ass? The Other Guys? The World's End? Tropic Thunder? Mr And Mrs. Smith? It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World? Kiss Kiss Bang Bang? Ghostbusters? 30 Minutes or Less? Kung Fu Hustle? Hobo With A Shotgun? Beverly Hills Cop? I mean COME ON. Hard to pull off? Give me a break.

I was extremely skeptical about this movie until this trailer came out. Now I'm pumped!

Could be cool, and I'm definitely interested in seeing how Marvel ties this in with the other movies (i'm assuming there's some connection). I'm also interested in getting some hint of what the actual story is about, but I'm sure that'll be more evident in future trailers.

But this does a nice job of establishing the tone that they're going for, and introducing the characters. Fine enough for a first trailer, but it's not really getting me too interested. My impression is that the whimsical aspect feels a little bit too forced here. Like, that "Starlord" guy looks like he's gonna provide a lot of comic relief, but he also looks like he's mugging for the camera the whole time. If the intent is to be funny, the comedy doesn't seem natural within the situation.

But again...this is just a first trailer, so that's forgivable. Minimal dialogue, minimal talk about story, mostly just a way to introduce certain characters and establish the tone. This gets me a bit interested, but not a lot. It could be a fun ride or it could be total trash, but in any case I'm now a bit more interested to hear more about this movie.
