Original Japanese versions Ringu, Ju on the grudge. Saw them at midnight cable show many years ago all alone, couldn't sleep well for couple or a day more at night:(
most scariest movies you have seen in your life OT? :)
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I can't think of any recently but when I was younger I liked scared movies but at night would end up knocking on parents door to sleep on floor next to their bed lol. Now I hope as an adult I hope I don't have a kid that does that lol doors locked your outta luck kid.
Without a doubt The Conjuring. Seeing that at the midnight premiere was the moist terrifying movie experience I have ever had.
Other good ones are Sinister and Insidious. Fun fact: All 3 movies have sequels planned for release next year!
@LostProphetFLCL: Nothing has really seemed scary as of lately. But, holy shit did The Conjuring creep me out. Thumbs up for them

I actually feel like the horror genre has gotten better recently. You have those movies I mentioned in terms of movies that are scary, and then Cabin in the Woods and You're Next in terms of great horror comedies.
@LostProphetFLCL: yeah. I don't remember the last time I jumped and or had to turn away from the screen. Conjuring did it.
Cabin in the woods...god, I forgot about that. Had some good laughs. I hate predictable horror movies
@indzman: Oh I haven't seen this thread before :P
Yep saw the conjuring in the cinema at night with my girl, it was pretty scary, the last film that got me like that was Blair Witch Project, scared the hell out of me, the worst thing was we had to walk back home down a dark path through some woods in the dark.
Of course Japenese versions of The Ring and The Grudge were pretty creepy.
Sinister is really really good horror film I actually watch that regularly.
I heard Shutter is good(not the US version).
I saw I Am Legend when I was 12 or 13...
****. I didn't sleep that night I'm pretty sure...or the day after that. A week later I wanted to see it again though.

Though it is based on a horror book, I wouldn't called I Am Legend a horror movie. I think it's much more fitting in the thriller and suspense genre.
Nonetheless, it does get freighting and tense at times.

The TC said "most scariest movies" (sic.) I was under the impression this meant it wasn't limited to just horror movies.
@indzman: I believe you meant for the title to be "What is the scariest movie(s) you have seen?" 'Most scariest' is grammatically incorrect.
I heard Shutter is good(not the US version).
The original Thai version of Shutter is fucking phenomenal! It is also one of the scariest movies around and is FAR scarier than Ju-On (can't say anything about the Japanese version of The Ring as I have yet to see that one).
I keep forgetting to post that movie in these topics, but Shutter is certainly one of the scariest movies around and is definitely the best I have seen in terms of Asian horror.
Insidious was pretty scary. The first time I saw Event Horizon I couldn't go to sleep that night. Just saw Sinister and that was pretty bad.
And you fucking butchered the thread title, Indz.
@indzman: I have a different opinion than you, thus I must be lying about having seen horror movies and I'm crazy? Does that actually make sense to you?
Not only in this thread , in many threads on OT. You answer quite differently from other opinions. Its amusing :)
Can't think of any, and I've seen a ton. They were all bad in some way in my opinion. I guess my standards are set too high, wish I was artistically talented so I could show people what real horror looks like.
@indzman: Have I explained what in detail?
Anyway, I guess I should just chalk this thread up as just another example of you failing to address your silly replies to my answers to the questions asked. Why is it, exactly, that you have such a hard time accepting that some people have opinions that differ from yours?
If you had added " I sometimes happen to find images of violent combat and traumatic battle wounds to be quite scary " when you mentioned Saving Private Ryan in a scary movies thread i'dve understood instantly. I thought you are again making vauge comments as you always do. Anyways my apologies for your condition :)
This is what happens when an ESL person tries to communicate with thegerg. OH THE HUMANITY!
Not only ESL , even EFL persons on OT has trouble understanding him many times. On almost all threads on OT , he is always in a argument with a user from a vauge misinformation if you check regularly HeHe.
@indzman: What did you not understand about my initial post? You asked a simple question and you got a simple answer. Are you really that confused by a straightforward answer to your question? Also, how was my answer "vague"? It couldn't be less vague.
I never have trouble with understanding anyone on OT other than you , many have same. I'll show you from henceforward on any threads how you get into arguments for your vauge answers :)
Lake Mungo. It's a fake documentary but worth a watch.
I love Lake Mungo, it was creepy as hell and THAT moment was really scary.
I watched Night of the Living Dead (the remake) when i was 7 or 8, and i was insanely scared, i couldn't sleep for days.
The Exorcist is pretty damn scary too.
The Shutter, yes, amazing movie and pretty creepy.
As far as new movies, The Conjuring was solid, not a fan of the last minutes, but the overall film is pretty solid.
Also, has anyone watched The Black Door? is a mockumentary extremely well done with tons of creepy moments.
Another one of my favorites is Noroi The Curse...IMO one of the scaries movies i've seen, then again is also a mockumentary and a pretty long one too, so if you are not a fan of the genre, you might not like it.
I'm sure i'm leaving out a lot, but those are at the top of my head at the moment.
