Longtime 24 character and former CTU agent Tony Almeida is set to appear in the upcoming blu-ray release of 24: Live Another Day.

He is shown in prison, where he was sentenced to life in solitary confinement. He is asking to be put in general population so he can be an informant on terrorist cells within the prison.

24 fans, would this be enough for you to consider buying the upcoming home release? (For the sake of the question let's assume that it won't be posted on YouTube even though we all know that it will just like the post-Season 8 scene with Chloe and her family did). Or are you just going to use Netflix and Hulu Plus?

Also, do you think that this may open up a chance that he will be released in order to help Jack escape the Russians in a possible Season 10 scenario?

I probably won't buy it because of that. Not that I don't like 24 but I think it's pretty scummy to include something as a deleted scene that seems like it might be pivotal to the future of the story.

@airshocker: My guess is that they did it to sell copies of the series since most 24 fans already watched LAD either on Fox and/or Hulu.

Oh I know why they did it. It's still unacceptable to me, though. Deleted scenes usually aren't critical to a series. They're nice to watch because it fills in some blanks but this can't be considered a deleted scene because Almeida wasn't even in LAD. This should have been aired at the end of the last episode. Kind of like how Marvel's Agents of SHIELD does at the end of almost every episode. It's a scummy thing for FOX to do.

Mostly because it seems to be in the article. Oh the final. It isn't there. Will I be willing to purchase it for that alone?

No?

But I don't buy box sets for the bonus stuff. If I'm buying a set, it's for the show. The show is what would push me to buy.

I will buy this down the road at some point.

I prefer blu ray over streaming stuff.

I'm so glad I stopped at Season 6.

I would imagine that box sets are largely bought by people who've already seen the entirety of the season contained within the box set.
