All of those options treat these two as mutually exclusive. To me they are within the same sphere of thinking. Settling for the best you can find is often settling for the person you feel the most love for. They aren't all that different. They can be, but they don't have to be.

So yeah, I do think that "same difference" could have been an option, rather than all of the available options treating the threat title's two branches as polar opposites.

I guess, ultimately, not all of the marriages I am familiar with are disgusting. Not even most of them really. Everyone settles, absolutely everyone, because there's always the potential of meeting someone later on that fits you even better than your current spouse. There may very well be no ideal marriages, but there are still fulfilling ones that were born both out of love and out of simply being the best opportunity that someone found at an age when they were ready to be married.
