Locked up in mental asylum!

So basically here's the jist of it. I've been to this place for quite some time, and always they've encourqaged me to go into the populated areas

of the asylum and "mingle" but today I was told that I should stay in my room as to not get to much stimulus. What the.. Stimulus? from who for what?

So now all of a sudden It's bad for me to go out, as oposed to it being good in the past? I smell rotten iguanas here.

That reminds me of this woman who was locked up at th same hospital as me, she did'nt even do anything, the just locked her up. And she kept on asking "why! Why!?" . But they finally released her seems she had something special since she kept on saying "I don't have it".

So here I am, overstimulated, someones gonna pay for this.

Oh yeah and the hospitals name is Ahus dpt. Lurud Norway

By "stimulus," I think they mean "emotional stimulation," or mental stimulation. When you see something, your brain is triggered, and if something exciting happens around you, let's say you walk down the street and a car honks at you, it frightens you, makes your heart beat a little faster, shakes you up a bit, etc,it stimulated things in your brain that react to what just happened, if that makes sense.

I think they want to keep you "mellow," so that your emotions stay calm and don't get worked. I'm guessing the staff wants to see if they can keep you more in a "stable state."

Anyways, on topic - that's probably something you should talk to your therapist (I'm assuming you have one - I watch House) about, not OT, because most of OT should be in a room next to you...:P
