Let's see if you can figure this out

So this Monday I was eating at the buffet in a casino, and above the ambient noise I heard a bit of a song in the background on the casino's radio system. Because of the noise in the buffet I only heard a few lines, but I did recognize it at first though I was unsure as I couldn't exactly hear the words, but eventually I did hear enough of it (about a few words worth) to confirm my suspicion as to what the song was. I got the rhythm/beat of a section of it stuck in my head, but my mind overtime reworked the words to something different.

Here is what I reworked the words into:

got a date with Malcolm Merlyn/

And then a fight with Slade/

Then I'll go and face the Demon/

And survive his blade!/

Can you figure out what the real words are? BTW, "the Demon" would be Ra's al Ghul. Also don't discuss what happens on Arrow Season 3 too much on this thread, some of the European users haven't seen it yet and have to wait til October for it to be out on Netflix.

I'm almost positive that it isn't what you were thinking of, but for some god-forsaken reason I can't stop thinking of a Rage Against the Machine song.

@dragonfly110: You are right in that Rage Against the Machine is not the song I heard. They are a bit ahead of my time, I don't really know much about them aside from some stuff I read in an article about Paul Ryan who happens to be a fan of theirs and of the whole "grunge" movement.

The song I heard at the casino buffet was more recent, i.e. from 2014.

would it help, if I gave the singer's name? A name might make it too easy, maybe a nickname would be better: Tater.

If nobody can figure this out, I'll provide the answer some time next week.

Almost forgot about this thread. Although the turnout was abysmal and it doesn't seem like anyone really cares what the answer is or will even notice that I posted it, I did say I would post the answer, so I will do so.

The real lyrics are

"got a long list of ex-lovers/

they say that I'm insane"

and then for the next two lines, I'm not really sure what the real lyrics are - i.e. the lyrics that follow that section of the song. It's either "you know I love the players and you love the game" or "I got a blank space baby and I'll right your name".
