The Babadook.
Borrowed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from a friend for the laughs...it was actually better than I thought (which wasn't a difficult feat to achieve since I thought it was going to be utter crap). Although it looked like teenage mutant ninja frog-slug-hybrids...ugh...
Predestination. Well it was an interesting movie. I'd be lying if I said I completely understood the plot but that kind of contributed to the enjoyment; I was mystified. The settings though were AMAZING. I love this kinds of movies/shows, it reminded me of Fringe. Time travel involving messing up with the timeline, crazy science set in the 60s-70s all mixed with despair and ruin is definitely my thing.
The Tale of the Princess Kaguya. Take a bow, Takahata.
Messaged you about this one the other day.
EDIT: Not that it matters. Take a bow indeed.
@sammyjenkis898:
Gamespot's gon' Gamespot. Sorry man, didn't get any notification.
Possibly the most wonderfully affecting animated film I've seen since Millennium Actress.
Guardians of the Galaxy. It was pretty good but I feel like people bandwagoned on the groot circle jerk. Rocket Raccoon was a much better character imo.
Nightcrawler
It was predictable and the moustache-twirling villains were a bit too heavy-handed...but it was stylish, funny, off-putting, and Jake Gyllenhaal plays one hell of a crazy guy.
Thoroughly entertaining. 8/10

Mustache twirling villains?
Flame and Citron
Still not sure how I feel about it.
It's about two Danish resistance fighters during world war ii who assassinate collaborators and Nazis and struggle with their motives for doing so, especially in light of confusion and deception regarding the guilt of some of their targets.
It was fairly strong in creating an atmosphere of being physically, psychologically, and emotionally trapped.
It was punishingly bleak with no unmarred characters, and you really have to search for any sense of redemption or heroism.
It was just a little odd. It was narrowly focused, yet it had a little too much plot. It strove for well rounded characters and yet the characters feel a little unnatural in spite of decent acting.
They mention being hunted by the Gestapo, and they are shown being hunted by the Gestapo, yet it never feels like they are hunted men. Maybe the pervasive attempts to make everything feel stuck, where movement occurs only in the form of betrayal, is interfering with creating a sense of being hounded.

I liked Predestination too, also didn't totally grasp all of the plot but understood it enough to enjoy it.
Seen Horrible Bosses 2 at the cinema the other day, really funny actually better than the first Horrible bosses
Jungle Book (1942). Pretty decent - better than I expected, actually. There were some issues with the writing, but it was worth the watch.
I've watched lots of movies this year, game wise it's been very uneventful.
