Lately there are some rumours spreading ever faster: That laser printers, when functioning, can emit ultra-fine particles that are 5 times more concentrated in an officeenvironmentthan traffic particles.

Once these particles enter the lungs (while inhaling), they can reach the lowest edges and cause pulmonary problems from iritations to cardiovascular problems or even cancer.

Full story here: http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,22164613-5003402,00.html

Personally, I don't own a laser printer, just a high-speed normal ink printer, and after reading this article, I don't even want to own one.

This does seem troubling though...

Thefine particles seem to be emitted from the toner. So the higher quality you want in a print, the higher the number of particles. Same goes to grayscale or colour.

What's the toothpaste story?

VMAN-Vercetti

There were two of them. I forgot the first because it came out quite awhile ago...something about the chemicals in it, but the second was about these toothpaste knock-offs from Nigeria or something that have been sold in dollar stores. Brush teeth now, dead soon after.

I saw this on the news like 2 days ago it is a load of BS. French Fries cause cancer whatever. It is isn't like people are standing next to printers, putting there face next to and taking deep breaths

Well toner does have harmful particles if you do inhale it... but unless you drink the toner straight from its housing, it's not gonna do real damage. The toner is fused on to the paper with heat, so you're smelling pretty much burning paper.
