ive seen some pretty sad(the emotion kind) moments in anime but god dang

i recently watched the gurren lagann anime and when one of the characters died(i wont say who) it was tuff you would have to have no soul not to get the even tiniest misty man eyes, even right now im still a little sad

what sre the saddest moments in anime that you have encountered

When GTO ended, but i'm a man I don't show emotions. I grunted silently and long, and hit my girlfriend.

I remember that scene, and frankly it didn't surprise me. I figured he'd end up going down in a spectacular way the moment I saw him in full machismo mode, just not about a third of the way into the series.

There really haven't been any moments in anime that have brought me to tears in recent memory, though I have laughed so hard I cried at the English dub of Ghost Stories. Does that count?

Hated that movie.... I didn't care enough about the characters to feel sorry for them.

I agree Elfen Lied was really good, i didnt cry but it had some really good sad moments. Ive never watched the gurren one though

Agreed, Grave of the Fireflies is probably one of the most tragic warmovies (if that's how you'd class it)ever, animated or not. It's like an animated Schindler's List.

Can't say I experienced such tears of happiness, not to say I wasn't happy, but man the way it pulled on the heart strings nearly killed me. I keep trying to rewatch it but everytime I know what's going to happen I get really sad.

I wasn't effected in the slightest bit, then again I am a male and don't watch anime.
