If I remeber right its technically a fruit. However, when used for cooking, its generally used as a vegtable which causes the confusion. So its both, in a sense.

Them seeds.
Yet used as a veggie. Than again pizza is also a veggie.
it's a fruit I've heard, but those are things you can Google with less effort than creating a post now one question I've never been able to get a straight answer on even from experts is whether oral herpes (like just cold sores and stuff) can lead to genital herpes through oral sex, I get two answers on that every timelamprey263

He's not a smart ass you are just that stupid.
Yes, but he's also a smart ass :PScientifically - Fruit because of the seeds inside the flesh. Vegetables are generally the root or leaves of a plant.
So it's a fruit that's treated like a vegetable. Like Cucumbers, Squash, Pumpkins, etc.
its a fruit, but it taste nasty like a vegetable that everyone just calls it a vegetableNengo_Flowbest explanation.
technically it is a fruit, but it is prepared and eaten as a vegetable.
So either way you're right. Though I hate technicalities, so it is a vegetable, and if you say fruit, youre a douche :P

you'll have to have some of my dad's tomatoes. They're amazing. And so many varieties. Sweet and acidic. Mild and savory. Tart and juicy. Chill 'em and slice em then put some fresh mozzarella and basil on there, then some nice olive oil and some salt and pepper. Mmmmm.
Not to mention the yield he gets. So many tomatoes, he and my mom have to make chutney and tomato jam in order to stop from wasting them lol.
I don't think I will ever buy a store bought "fresh" tomato again. They're terrible. But fresh grown from the garden? Delish!

I was going to say the same thing basically. Fresh tomatoes off the vine are great. Full of flavor. Nothing better than a fresh sliced tomato on a summer day.
Those nasty gassed store bought ones, and the ones they serve in most restaurants are nasty. The store bought ones are usually picked and shipped green, then gassed to ripen them. The ones in most restaurants are stored in the fridge. Putting a tomato in the fridge ruins it's flavor.

Before my Pops died, he always had a garden (was a farmer before joining the Air Force) and always had tomatoes growing. Several years ago, he had so many tomatoes that my Ma had to make and can tomato sauce and spaghetti sauce. He loved fried green tomatoes too (and he wasn't from the South). The Big Beefy tomatoes are some of the best from what I have seen him grow as well as the Roma variety.
