I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed yesterday and I'm already eating solid food. Does anybody know if this is safe or not?

How solid? You should be eating solid food like noodles, but I wouldn't be eating a steak yet or anything like that.

There's a risk of infection, and dry sockets.

I do not know....I have Wisdom teeth but they are coming in straight.

Oddly I have no bottom wisdom teeth at all, they didn't even grow in, they just don't exist. I never had anything ever taken out either.

I was eating pizza a day later. That being said I wouldn't suggest do it. You will most likely end up with blood.

My years of being a dental hygienist tells me you should be fine. Eat a rock for all I care. The human teeth will totally bounce back in some awesome manner.

Really depends on how difficult the operation was. My wisdom teeth were fairly erupted and not impacted. I was back up to speed fairly quickly.

It's very possible to be eating solid food again that soon, and not have any problems. But there is a risk. I wouldn't say the risk is worth it. Everyone I know who's had dry socket describes it to be an excrutiating pain you couldn't even imagine without actually experiencing it. When I got mine taken out, I took no risk. I ate nothing but soup and smoothies and yogurt until the holes were completely healed over.

If you're going to go ahead and risk eating solids so soon, before the holes are healed, at least be sure to clean them well. The surgeon probably gave you a little plastic syringe-looking thing, for shooting that special mouthwash into the sockets. I would recommend using the sh!t out of that. Several times a day. Pretty much immediately after eating anything.

I'm not drooling. And I'm barely swelled up. Just a little bit of bleeding still (very faint).

All four huh? Were they impacted? My bottom Wisdom teeth were impacted against my jaw bone so every time I opened my mouth, I could hear my teeth rubbing against the jaw. Got them removed and spent a week recovering. The pain was on and off and it didn't help that I had to attend class too (Can't afford to miss any). I wouldn't eat any hard foods for a day or two after just to be safe. You wouldn't want to experience a dry socket. I should also probably mention that this was done by an oral surgeon.

Disgusting. I'm also lactose intolerant (if I eat dairy without solid foods I get the runs.)
