Here's one:

Downstream Speed: Up to 768 Kbps
Upstream Speed: Up to 384 Kbps

Here's another one:

Downstream Speed: Up to 1.5 Mbps
Upstream Speed: Up to 384 Kbps

Now, I'm not thinking to be downloading like 8 movies at once or be using it for downloading heavy stuff or something like that, just enough for websites to load faster and to be able to watch movies on netflicks without waiting for it to load from time to time. Is the first one too slow for that?

Please do not make duplicate topics. It spams the boards and pushes makemap threads off the front page.

That's awful. Are you on dial-up? I'm on a pretty slow line and I have a 3.0 Mbps speed. That's megabits of course, not megabytes. A byte is 8 bits.

Don't expect it to be blazing fast. The first one might be alright for streaming movies, but I doubt it'd be able to stream them at a very high resolution.

(According to Speakeasy, I have... Download Speed: 12269 kbps (1533.6 KB/sec transfer rate). Huh.)

What is your current connection like?

If you're going to be watching movies on Netflix, I'd suggest the second speed. I have 3.0Mbps down and 768 Kbps up and I still can't watch the instant now movies in HD.

I think you may be comparing kilobytes to kilobits...

My download speed is 10 Mbps, so your examples are kind of low. Still not bad though, good enough for web browsing.

My download speeds at home are about 5 mb/s and my upload speed is about .5 mb/s. At school, though, they're about 60 mb/s and 40 mb/s, respectively. Rather lossy connection, however.

Very sorry about that. My computer was acting weird, it said there was an error, and i thought the thread didn't get posted. It wasn't intentional.
