Yes. You'll get more for less money if you buy a desktop computer instead.

Yea you could have gotten a HP mini netbook and take it everywhere and it will fit on your stomach and listen to music etc.

If you don't plan on taking it anywhere.. even around your house then yes, like it's been said it would be stupid.

Guarenteed the desktop computer you buy for the same price will be faster than the laptop.

I don't think it's stupid. At least you have the option of portability should the need ever arise.

If your using it for games, then yes that'd be pretty stupid because desktops are better for that. But if you'll just be surfing the interwebzzz then.....no because it's better for that because you can just be lazy anywhere in your house.

If you never, ever take it off your desk, then no, don't get a laptop.
