It feels as though I am just at rock bottom right now at university right now, and am wondering if anyone knows if that statement is true?

The saying is due to the zodiacal light (which one can hardly see at all these days with all the light pollution). It's the reflection of the sun off dust in orbit around the Earth. It's also called 'false dawn'. It will appear before sunrise and then fade out again.

So yes it gets darker before dawn as the zodiacal light fades, but no darker than before the zodiacal light appears. So it isn't darkestbefore dawn, it just gets dark again before dawn.

It's just a saying. It's all on you and it's all about choices.

Despite the past glamorizing of college life, where the shy nerd leaves his shell, college is just a continuation of your high school life. College for me sucked, until I found a part time job at a grocery store, that mostly employed college students. Just being around others your same age helps a lot.

I got kicked out of my university for never going to class, and that was three years ago. Now im back in the same school striving for A's. Anything is possible man and we all fall, but not everyone picks themselves back up. The decision as to whether you will do just that, will answer your own question. Focus in and tell your self its time to do what you need to do, graduate and get the hell out of there
