Is Breaking Bad the greatest show on television currently airing?

So,what do you think?.If yes then do you consider it to be the greatest show ever?.

Parks and Recreation is the best show currently airing.

I've been meaning to start watching it, my brother told me it was good.  I'd be surprised if I found anything to be better than Boardwalk Empire right now though.

Guess I'll have to give it a watch.  I don't even know what it's about to be honest.  I like the early 1900's settings, even late 1800's.  I feel so much more connected to a show or movie from that era than I do watching Star Wars or Alien.  So add that to how good the story in Boardwalk is and it's tough to beat for me.  

After "Lost"  I pretty much refuse to give any show a chance until I can watch a couple seasons at a time. If I'm going to be that dissapointed again it will be over the course of a couple months, not 6 years lol!   I didn't start Boardwalk until this summer.

It's definitely my favorite piece of work in general. Whether or not it's the greatest show on air or of all time, I don't know. That's something I don't concern myself with on my better days.

I found it to be ok, but kind of got bored of it by the third/fourth season. Jesse just started getting whiny and annoying. chrisrooR

Did you stop watching it? I would say the 4th season was easily my fav of what I have seen of the show (seen all the episodes on netflix so I am up through the first half of season 5). God the last few episodes of season 4 were so amazing and things got so damn intense. Season 5 has been a bit of a letdown for me after that amazing 4th season....

And as for the topic, BB is easily the best TV drama I have ever seen BUT I say that as someone who normally doesn't care much for TV dramas and gravitates alot more towards comedies.

I like Mad Men better, the most recent season finale was freaking awesome. Can't wait for next season. Breaking Bad is probably my second favorite drama.

It's one of the best shows I've ever watched, yes.

I think BB is the only show I've seen that has in terms of writing has been consistently good through the entire series.  Right now this final season is just awesome, the last episode in particular may be one of the greatest episodes I've seen on TV.

I think so, not nearly into things like The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones as much as I am Breaking Bad.

2. More well written female characters (I'm not even a Skyler/Marie hater)

That just sounds like you gave the show an unfair chance.  "They like it, they're talking about it and I can't join in.  That must mean the show really blows!"

If people started talking about a tree that grew money all the time I'm sure you'd have a desire to go take a look see!

I watch Homeland,  Just finished the second season this summer.  Is the third starting this fall?  I'll probably wait till next summer to watch it, as long as I know that didn't get cancelled
